Double Assassin Episode 17 Recap
> Double Assassin Recap
Lan Xiaoyu rushed to seek the truth from the master and learned that Prime Minister Cao was actually a righteous official. The Emperor held a grudge against him for opposing many of the Emperor's wrongdoings. Thus, he used the Qingluan Society to assassinate Prime Minister Cao. The Qingluan Society retreated from the world because they knew the Emperor was behind it all.
They aimed to rescue those righteous individuals persecuted by the Emperor. Lan Xiaoyu had a strong intuition that Chi Jingyu was in danger and sought a way to save him from the master. She unexpectedly found out that Chi Jingyu was still useful to the Emperor because the Emperor wanted to use him to kill Lan Xiaoyu.
Lan Xiaoyu couldn't understand why she was such a nuisance to the Emperor. The master explained that the position of the Crown Prince's consort was crucial, and the Emperor couldn't tolerate anyone else getting involved. However, Lan Xiaoyu had caused the Crown Prince to act against the Emperor's wishes. The Emperor wouldn't harm the Crown Prince, but Lan Xiaoyu might not be so fortunate.
Chi Jingyu knew he was just a pawn for the Emperor. If he killed Lan Xiaoyu on the day of the Crown Prince's wedding, the Crown Prince would be blamed. Yet, the Emperor wouldn't send Chi Jingyu alone to kill Lan Xiaoyu. Chi Jingyu decided to do his best to protect Lan Xiaoyu. Lan Xiaoyu, learning the truth, felt devastated but had to comply with the imperial decree and accept the marriage.
Before the wedding, the Crown Prince broke the rules to see Lan Xiaoyu and talked about the stories his father had told him. He wanted to become a wolf, but Lan Xiaoyu encouraged him to be a noble and honest lion, never using excuses to bully the weak.
