After the 1927 Guangzhou Anti-Revolutionary Coup, the underground members of the Chinese Communist Party, the Han couple, bravely sacrificed themselves. Their three separated children were each adopted by ordinary families. The eldest son became an apprentice in a pharmacy, the second son became a chef, and the youngest daughter pursued a career as a Cantonese opera performer. Under the guidance of their respective mentors, they grew into experts in their fields. Just as they were about to find and seek revenge on the individuals responsible for their parents' deaths, the Second Sino-Japanese War broke out, and Guangzhou fell under occupation. This drastically altered their destinies. The eldest son engaged in a seven-year struggle against a Japanese pharmaceutical merchant to protect traditional Chinese medicine formulas and ultimately sacrificed his life while opposing Japanese biological weapons. The second son refused to collaborate with the enemy and moved to Hong Kong to promote Cantonese cuisine. When his career was successful, he returned to Guangzhou to help his brother save the people. The youngest daughter led a theater troupe in contributing to the war effort and continued to refine her Cantonese opera skills, seeking a balance between the harsh realities of life and the beautiful world of theater. Until the end of the war, the three siblings steadfastly upheld their national pride and continued to pass on their respective skills and traditions.
