The queen slapped Liu Jingshu hard and scolded her, saying she had no ability and threatened to kick her out of the palace if she couldn't seduce Prince Shen Huaijin again. Liu Jingshu complained that she had already instigated Prince Shen Huaijin to sell the painting "Autumn Waterfall and Geese," but Li Caiwei bought it back. The queen, annoyed, told her to leave, and Liu Jingshu ran away in anger. Maid Ding Xiang told the queen that Li Caiwei seemed to be getting smarter. The queen said they needed to take action now to avoid more difficulties in the future.
Liu Jingshu ran out of the queen's room and met Li Caiwei and Prince Shen Huaijin. Li Caiwei cheerfully said that Liu Jingshu and Prince Shen Huaijin didn't love each other; Liu Jingshu liked Shen Huaibi, and Shen Huaibi liked Liu Jingshu. Prince Shen Huaijin and Liu Jingshu were both surprised to hear this.
Liu Jingshu was crying alone, and Shen Huaibi brought her ointment to reduce swelling and pain, which comforted her. Prince Shen Huaijin had been thinking about what Li Caiwei said; she claimed they had gone through multiple lifetimes and that they would love each other in the future. He suddenly sent Guo An to buy a house in Lin County for Liu Jingshu. Guo An thought he was creating a love nest and happily agreed.
As the moon rose in the west tower, Li Caiwei was still waiting for Prince Shen Huaijin. Lanxin said the prince wouldn't come, but Li Caiwei knew he would. Sure enough, Prince Shen Huaijin arrived shortly after. After he sat down, he asked Li Caiwei if what she had said was true. Li Caiwei, in turn, asked him if he believed in her.
