Dai Bola was dissatisfied with Xu Chenxi, thinking she was just a mascot. She was especially displeased that the company had assigned such a "mascot" to her. Even when the meeting ended, Xu Chenxi had yet to arrive. However, after persuasion from company leadership, Dai Bola agreed to let Xu Chenxi stay. Still, she made it clear that if Xu Chenxi crossed any lines, she would be dismissed.

The leadership advised Dai Bola to give her some face, as Xu Chenxi had influential backing. At the time, Xu Chenxi was using her family connections to transfer to the company where Ding Zhitong worked, with the sole purpose of suppressing Ding Zhitong and keeping her away from Gan Yang. She drove her Porsche and walked into the meeting room late, then went with Ding Zhitong to Dai Bola’s office.

Dai Bola, ten years Ding Zhitong’s senior, was once a top student back in school. She sternly reminded Ding Zhitong not to bring shame to their alma mater. When Xu Chenxi greeted her warmly, Dai Bola completely ignored her, not even sparing her a glance. The two officially began their work journey. Jia Fan brought in department documents for Ding Zhitong to review.

After briefly replying to a message from Gan Yang, Ding Zhitong devoted herself fully to studying the materials. Meanwhile, Gan Yang received a call from Shu Chi, and his expression darkened instantly. He visited the investor, sincerely hoping Shu Chi would give him a chance to make improvements. However, Shu Chi publicly backed out of the deal, citing high development costs and claiming the design was unachievable.

Ding Zhitong demonstrated remarkable efficiency, finishing all the materials in just a few hours and even noting the errors within. However, Jia Fan deliberately made things difficult for her. Still, Ding Zhitong was undeterred. She returned to her desk with a new stack of materials, and her focused, meticulous attitude was noticed by Dai Bola. That evening, Ding Zhitong was still working overtime. Gan Yang called, and Ding Zhitong firmly stated that the work hadn't worn her down.

Instead, she hoped to stay by Dai Bola’s side through hard work. To her, having a leader like Dai Bola would help her grow faster and earn more money. After hanging up, Gan Yang went for his usual night run. Seeing stars in the sky, he took a picture and sent it to Ding Zhitong. Unknowingly, she had fallen asleep at her desk.

Xu Chenxi, passing by on her way home, gently placed a jacket over her, muttering that she couldn't let Ding Zhitong catch a cold and end up being cared for by Gan Yang. After finishing organizing the materials, Ding Zhitong realized that only the compliance department’s data was missing. Qin Yu glanced at Jia Fan and guessed he was making things difficult on purpose.

She told Ding Zhitong she could visit Han Tao from the finance department in the afternoon, but warned that he was difficult to deal with and advised her to choose her words carefully. As expected, when Ding Zhitong approached Han Tao later, he refused to give her the data. Fortunately, Feng Sheng, from the same department, mediated, and Han Tao eventually handed over the documents. Ding Zhitong was surprised to see Feng Sheng at Hetai.

He then revealed the reason Jia Fan was targeting her: after graduation, Jia Fan joined Hetai but never got promoted. With a performance review approaching, he faced possible termination. When Ding Zhitong learned that Qin Yu couldn’t go to the bank, she offered to go in her place. At the bank, she recalled a video clip she had watched earlier. Noticing a discrepancy in the timestamps, she confirmed that the bank statement provided by Mr. Zhang was falsified.

She immediately informed Qin Yu, hoping to stop Dai Bola from proceeding with the partnership. At a crucial moment, Ding Zhitong rushed into the meeting room, successfully preventing the company from incurring losses. Afterward, Dai Bola harshly scolded Jia Fan, stating that had it not been for Ding Zhitong’s timely discovery, the consequences would have been disastrous. Because of this, Ding Zhitong earned the opportunity to go on a business trip with Dai Bola the next day.

Ding Zhitong shared the good news with Gan Yang. He didn’t mention the broken contract but instead encouraged her. In an effort to improve his running shoes, Gan Yang provided them for free to athletes in exchange for valuable feedback. Things were going well, but Wang Yi grew increasingly anxious due to the lack of profit. Still, Gan Yang wasn’t discouraged by short-term losses. While out running, he happened to encounter an elderly man jogging.

Based on the man’s posture, Gan Yang immediately pointed out a flaw in the shoes, which piqued the man's interest. They ended up chatting for a long time, and Gan Yang learned that the man was actually a judge in the running shoe design competition—no wonder he looked familiar. Through this fateful encounter, Gan Yang earned Dr. Chen’s approval and successfully secured a partnership. During the business trip with Dai Bola, Ding Zhitong performed excellently and gained recognition.

Dai Bola instructed her and Qin Yu to return first while she stayed to lead the meeting. Upon hearing this, Jia Fan’s face showed visible unease. Two months passed in the blink of an eye. Ding Zhitong casually snapped a picture of the clouds above, sharing small moments of happiness from her life. Meanwhile, Gan Yang and Dr. Chen came to the same city on a business trip. Coincidentally, they ended up at the same train station.

Unfortunately, the train was about to depart, and the two could only look at each other from afar, filled with longing and thoughts of one another. In the bustling city of Shanghai, Ding Zhitong and Gan Yang each pursued their dreams with determination.
