Wang Yi, feeling weak from running, was searching everywhere for water. Unable to continue, he leaned against an electric pole, trembling all over. A passing girl mistook him for being electrocuted and kicked him down. Wang Yi grabbed the water bottle from her hand and gulped it down in one go. Once he calmed down, he realized he had been kicked and angrily accused the girl of being blind.

Ding Zhitong found the hotel too expensive and could only spend the night at McDonald's. While heading to the restroom, Gan Yang and Wang Yi came to buy food, narrowly missing Ding Zhitong. As they were leaving, they dropped a heart-shaped tag and also heard a ringtone that sounded like Ding Zhitong's. Gan Yang was overjoyed, believing it was a sign that his confession tomorrow would be successful.

Wang Yi rolled his eyes, thinking that men in love are all brainless. Just after they left McDonald's, Ding Zhitong came out of the restroom, and the call was from Song Mingmei. Song Mingmei speculated that Gan Yang might confess tomorrow, but Ding Zhitong didn’t believe it. The next day before the marathon started, Xu Chenxi, Gan Yang’s childhood friend, came to cheer him on. Wang Yi recognized Xu Chenxi as the "blind one.

" Gan Yang asked Xu Chenxi to bring Ding Zhitong to the finish line because he wanted to confess. Along the way, Xu Chenxi and Ding Zhitong encouraged each other. But when they finally reached the finish line, Ding Zhitong was nowhere to be seen. Gan Yang hurriedly called her, only to receive a cold response—she was already on her way back to Beijing. Gan Yang was left speechless and could only remind her to take care of herself.

Xu Chenxi, seeing Gan Yang upset, told Wang Yi to go comfort him, but Wang Yi didn’t dare to. On the train, Ding Zhitong was feeling miserable. She recalled her conversation with Xu Chenxi on the way to the finish line, where Xu Chenxi deliberately emphasized how close she and Gan Yang were.

She said Gan Yang got into making shoes because she got injured and that she came to this marathon at his invitation because he didn’t like running alone. Heartbroken, Ding Zhitong got off before reaching the finish line. When she saw messages from Gan Yang on her phone, she didn’t reply and instead turned off her phone, thinking maybe she was just imagining that Gan Yang liked her.

Feng Sheng heard from Song Mingmei that Ding Zhitong had gone to a friend’s marathon and that she’d be back the next morning. He went to the station to pick her up. He scolded her for having her phone turned off the whole time. Just as she turned it back on, Gan Yang called, worried something had happened. Feng Sheng deliberately spoke loudly so Gan Yang could hear him, which made Gan Yang feel even worse.

Feng Sheng invited Ding Zhitong to dinner. At first, she refused, but when she heard he wanted to celebrate receiving a job offer, she agreed but insisted on bringing Song Mingmei. Feng Sheng agreed on the surface, but Song Mingmei didn’t show up that evening. Feng Sheng explained that she had something to do.

Feng Sheng heard that Ding Zhitong hadn’t decided which company to join yet and immediately said he wasn’t in a hurry either, hoping to decide after she did. Ding Zhitong encouraged him to choose Dao Capital, as it suited him better. Feng Sheng felt disappointed because he knew Ding Zhitong wanted to go to Hetai, clearly meaning they’d end up in different cities. On the way back from dinner, Gan Yang showed up to find Ding Zhitong.

He had done well in the marathon and wanted to treat her to a celebratory meal, but she told him she had already eaten and angrily returned to the dorm. Gan Yang stopped Feng Sheng and asked about his relationship with Ding Zhitong. Feng Sheng deliberately said he had confessed to her. However, Gan Yang could tell from his words that there was actually nothing between them.

He also realized Feng Sheng had raised his voice at the station on purpose. The two men officially declared war on each other. The next day, Gan Yang showed up to take Ding Zhitong to school. Feng Sheng came too. Ding Zhitong decided not to go with either of them and walked off alone. Song Mingmei, wearing heels and rushing to class, accidentally fell. Just then, Qin Chang rode by on his bike.

Song Mingmei asked him to give her a lift, but Qin Chang, still upset about her previous remarks that made him a joke, refused. Song Mingmei stubbornly climbed onto the back of the bike, and Qin Chang had no choice but to keep riding. Trying to one-up each other, Feng Sheng and Gan Yang raced on their electric scooters, accidentally crashing into Qin Chang and Song Mingmei, causing Song Mingmei to get injured. Everyone ended up in the infirmary.

When Ding Zhitong heard about it, she came to scold Gan Yang, who had no choice but to leave first. Qin Chang offered to take Song Mingmei home. Since Gan Yang had left early, Ding Zhitong took Feng Sheng home. On the way, she made it clear that they could only be friends from now on. Feng Sheng understood the meaning behind her words and left, heartbroken. After returning, Gan Yang was in a bad mood and drank some alcohol.

He felt that Ding Zhitong had been treating him coldly lately and wanted to know why. Wang Yi could only support him with words. Drunk, Gan Yang went to the girls' dormitory and shouted Ding Zhitong’s name, causing the other students to laugh. He said if she didn’t come down, he would keep shouting. Helpless, Ding Zhitong came down and pulled him aside. Seeing Gan Yang was drunk, Ding Zhitong asked him directly what was wrong.

Gan Yang asked why she was ignoring him and whether he had invited Xu Chenxi to run with him. Ding Zhitong explained that Xu Chenxi was his childhood friend, but he didn’t want to run with her—he only wanted to run with Ding Zhitong. Xu Chenxi had invited him once, but she twisted her ankle that same day, and his mother scolded him, which made him really annoyed.

Gan Yang finally got the answer he was looking for: Ding Zhitong and Feng Sheng had no special relationship—they were just childhood friends too. The two stared at each other, realizing it was all one big misunderstanding. Gan Yang suddenly looked at Ding Zhitong and asked if she liked anyone. Ding Zhitong immediately blushed. Ding Zhitong wanted to call Wang Yi to take Gan Yang home, but Gan Yang grabbed her hand and acted cute, insisting she go running with him. Only after she agreed did both of them smile.
