Ding Zhitong rode a bicycle to take Gan Yang home. Gan Yang didn’t forget to remind her about running together the next day. The two kept saying goodbye, reluctant to part. Wang Yi came down to pick up Gan Yang and reminded him not to confess his feelings through running every time. But Gan Yang gave the sweetest smile because he knew she understood his way of expressing love through running. Xu Chenxi had liked Gan Yang since childhood.

But after confessing once, Gan Yang started avoiding her. Later, Xu Chenxi deliberately told one of Gan Yang’s basketball friends “I like you” too, and casually explained to Gan Yang that they were just playing Truth or Dare and that she didn’t actually like him. Only then did Gan Yang feel relieved and stop avoiding her. Xu Chenxi shared this story with her best friend and broke down in tears—she no longer dared to say she liked someone again.

Early in the morning, Gan Yang called Ding Zhitong to ask her to go for a run. But it unfortunately started pouring. Worried that Gan Yang would be disappointed, Ding Zhitong promised to wait until the rain stopped. Gan Yang even tried on several sets of athletic clothes and insisted on having Wang Yi help him choose the best one. Wang Yi complained that Gan Yang treated running like speed dating. Ding Zhitong waited patiently for the rain to stop.

Finally, the rain ended, and the two headed out for their run. Gan Yang even coached Ding Zhitong on how to breathe properly while running. He held her hand and placed it on her stomach to help her feel her breath. Ding Zhitong suddenly felt shy and lowered her head. Gan Yang noticed her pulse racing and worried something was wrong with her heart.

Ding Zhitong quickly pulled her hand away, afraid he would notice that her racing heartbeat was because of him. When Ding Zhitong couldn’t keep up, Gan Yang encouraged her, gave her clear goals, and motivated her to push through. Afterward, Ding Zhitong thanked him for his encouragement. Gan Yang told her that he had wanted to say something important after the marathon, but once again, the moment was interrupted—this time by the rain.

In the cafeteria, two students were gossiping that Song Mingmei was seducing Qin Chang to get a better evaluation. Furious, Song Mingmei hit one of them with a tray. During class, Qin Chang specifically praised Song Mingmei’s report as the most detailed and precise and shared it with the class, convincing everyone it truly was the best. He made the gossiping student apologize to Song Mingmei and warned that anyone spreading rumors again wouldn’t be allowed to attend class.

At that moment, Song Mingmei found Qin Chang very charming. Gan Yang brought Ding Zhitong to the dorm to shower and change into clean clothes. She saw many shoes Gan Yang had designed, including one pair specially made for her. The two of them painted the shoes together, laughing happily. Just then, Gan Yang received a job offer from Hetai. As the rain suddenly stopped and a rainbow appeared, it felt like everything had cleared up.

Gan Yang once again invited her to go running together. Ding Zhitong couldn’t resist and kissed Gan Yang, telling him she liked him too. The two shared a passionate kiss on that sweet afternoon. After returning, Ding Zhitong lay on her bed grinning from ear to ear. Song Mingmei pressed her for details, and Ding Zhitong confessed she was now with Gan Yang. Since the future is unpredictable, being happy now is what matters most.

Song Mingmei agreed, saying youth is about enjoying the moment. Gan Yang prepared breakfast for Ding Zhitong and came to take her to class. They made plans to have dinner together that night. Before getting out of the car, Ding Zhitong sweetly kissed Gan Yang on the cheek, making him beam with joy. At work, Ding Zhitong comforted her co-worker Yun Ting, who was heartbroken because her boyfriend had broken up with her due to a long-distance relationship.

Ding Zhitong encouraged her to talk things through with him and volunteered to cover her shift. Gan Yang was about to pick Ding Zhitong up for dinner when she called to say she was covering for Yun Ting and couldn’t go. Worried that she’d be eating instant noodles alone, Gan Yang came to accompany her. Ding Zhitong even made him her signature instant noodles, which he couldn’t stop praising.

Ding Zhitong was worried that she might be sent to work in Shanghai, which could mean a long-distance relationship for them too. Gan Yang held her hand and promised that no matter how far, he’d fly to visit her. But Ding Zhitong still looked a bit worried. When Gan Yang came to pick her up for dinner, the little girls around the dorm greeted him, making Ding Zhitong uneasy.

Gan Yang promised to keep his distance from them in the future and then brought her to his little vegetable garden. He personally cooked a whole table of dishes for her, and Ding Zhitong gave him a chef nickname. Worried that she might not be the first to taste such good food, she expressed discomfort despite understanding everyone has a past.

Gan Yang explained that the food had only been tasted by Wang Yi before—he was just the guinea pig—and sincerely told her that Ding Zhitong was his first love.
