Egg and Stone Synopsis

The daughter of the head of the Wuyue Sect, the number one sect in the martial arts world, Huo Xingchen, in order to resist the fate imposed upon her and the "unwanted husband", resolutely steps into Jianghu.

With her own courage and resilience, as well as the companionship of her loved ones and friends, she grows along the way during her journey in the martial world. She unravels various conspiracies and tricks, ultimately achieving her ideal story.

Episode 1 Recap

In the martial arts world, the Wuyue Sect posted a notice to select the new sect leader. Huo Qingliu, the current leader of the Wuyue Sect, saw his daughter Huo Xingchen effortlessly defeat various formidable opponents. To appease the crowd, Huo Qingliu proposed an open competition to choose a husband for his daughter.

In reality, Huo Xingchen had no martial skills; her martial prowess was all a ruse orchestrated by the members of the Huo family. Huo Qingliu had deceived Huo Xingchen by using a drug to seal her "inner strength." Unaware of this, Huo Xingchen attempted to escape by climbing over a wall but was intercepted by Jiang Buting, who happened to pass by while investigating the disappearance of a knight from the Wuyue Sect. He brought her back to the sect.

Confined within the sect, Huo Xingchen wrote a letter seeking help from Mu Binghe. To prevent her from escaping, Jiang Buting modified the content of the letter.

Episode 2 Recap

Mu Binghe emerged as the victor in the contest to win Huo Xingchen's hand in marriage. Huo Xingchen thought she could embark on her own adventures, but Mu Binghe declared that he would grow old together with her. When Huo Xingchen saw the bell on a messenger pigeon's foot in Jiang Buting's hands, she realized that the letter had been tampered with. She promptly fled the scene, and Jiang Buting caught her as she fell from a wall, helping her escape.

Mu Binghe tracked them down, refusing to believe that the letter was fake and remaining steadfast in his belief that Huo Xingchen truly loved him. Subsequently, Jiang Buting was wanted by the Wuyue Sect.

The martial world was displeased with Huo Xingchen's elopement, so Huo Qingliu arranged for Mu Binghe to bring her back three days later, and their wedding plans were accelerated.

Episode 3 Recap

Jiang Buting wanted to persuade Huo Xingchen to return to the Wuyue Sect. The disappearance of the knight had left Huo Xingchen in distress, but she insisted on ridding the martial world of this menace! While trying to apprehend the mysterious figure in black, she accidentally ingested a potion. This transformed her into a "cat-type" girl who clung to Jiang Buting.

The next day, Huo Xingchen woke up, and the effects of the "cat-type" transformation had worn off. However, she discovered that Jiang Buting's clothes were disheveled, and he firmly claimed that she had tarnished his innocence. He demanded that she take him back to the Wuyue Sect to be held accountable. Huo Xingchen resisted at first but ultimately decided to take responsibility for her actions.

Episode 4 Recap

Jiang Buying discovered that one of the ingredients in the drug powder Huo Xingchen had ingested was a flower called "Seven Leaves, One Blossom." On her way back to the Wuyue Sect to fetch the antidote, Huo Xingchen coincidentally encountered a recruitment speech by the head steward of the Medicine God Manor. She decided to become an employee of the Medicine God Manor.

Upon hearing that the "Seven Leaves, One Blossom" could be found in the Medicine God Manor, Jiang Buting joined Huo Xingchen on her journey there. Inside the Medicine God Manor, Huo Xingchen began to notice things were amiss. While attempting to escape, she encountered her idol, the Cross Knight, and volunteered to deliver a message to the Wuyue Sect on his behalf.

Back at the Wuyue Sect, Mu Binghe's sister, Mu Yaoguang, disguised herself as Huo Xingchen and appeared before everyone. A mysterious force then captured the impostor "Huo Xingchen," who turned out to be Mu Yaoguang.

Episode 5 Recap

Mu Yaoguang was kidnapped by the black-clothed individuals from the Divine Medicine Valley, but she was accidentally rescued by Huo Xingchen, who had returned to the Wuyue Sect to deliver a warning. Huo Xingchen introduced herself as a "Circle Hero" and entrusted the warning message to Mu Yaoguang to take back to the Wuyue Sect.

Jiang Buting infiltrated a group of martial artists chasing the black-clothed individuals, while Huo Xingchen, determined to find clues, secretly followed at the end of the group.

After Mu Yaoguang was rescued, she hurried back to the Wuyue Sect. Mu Binghe arrived at the Divine Medicine Valley but was knocked unconscious by a mysterious person.

Huo Xingchen was taken to a place where they were researching unusual individuals. It turned out that the Divine Medicine Valley had been dedicated to studying unusual individuals who were painless, unaware, and possessed strong attacking capabilities. Huo Xingchen found herself in danger.

Episode 6 Recap

Huo Xingchen found herself surrounded by the "unusual people," but at a critical moment, Jiang Buting appeared. Together, they faced the enemy and also freed Chen Xie and the laid-back knight they had met in the dungeon. In order to protect Jiang Buting, Huo Xingchen willingly let herself be bitten by one of the "unusual people." Even as she gradually lost her rationality due to the bite, she didn't forget to help Jiang Buting inquire about the whereabouts of their master, leaving him deeply moved.

Huo Xingchen didn't want to drag Jiang Buting into her predicament and tried to convince him to leave her behind. However, Jiang Buting refused to abandon her and took her to a cabin in the woods. Jiang Buting once again entered the Medicine God Manor to search for an antidote but discovered records on the documents that indicated the experiments on the "unusual people" were irreversible.

Episode 7 Recap

Jiang Buting accidentally got bitten by Huo Xingchen and decided to share the same fate as her. After a night passed, he realized that he hadn't turned into an "unusual person." He speculated that it was due to his master's pills, so he gave his last life-saving pill to Huo Xingchen, helping her regain her sanity. However, Jiang Buting collapsed due to Huo Xingchen's unintentional attacks and internal injuries.

Jiang Buying brought Jiang Buting back to their family home, and Jiang's mother used the pills left by Jiang Buting's master to temporarily restore his health. Jiang Buting decided to personally escort Huo Xingchen back to the Wuyue Sect. However, Huo Xingchen mistakenly thought that Jiang Buting was going to the Wuyue Sect for a marriage proposal.

Episode 8 Recap

After returning to the Wuyue Sect, Huo Xingchen told Huo Qingliu that she was going to marry Jiang Buting. At Huo Qingliu's insistence, during a banquet for Jiang Buting, he inquired if Jiang Buting would be willing to become a son-in-law of the Huo family. However, Jiang Buting declined, feeling unworthy, as he knew that he might lose his life if he couldn't find his master.

In a fit of anger, Huo Xingchen went to Huo Qingliu to obtain the antidote. Unable to bear seeing her suffering, Huo Qingliu gave her a "fake antidote." After taking it, Huo Xingchen intended to leave the Wuyue Sect, but she encountered guards and caught up with Jiang Buting, who was about to depart. Seeing this, Jiang Buting realized that Huo Xingchen had no martial skills.

Episode 9 Recap

Jiang Buting ruthlessly exposed the long-held deception of the Wuyue Sect – Huo Xingchen actually possessed no inner strength. Huo Xingchen was deeply shaken and devastated by this revelation. At this moment, Mu Binghe tried to comfort her, but his efforts only worsened her emotional state. Jiang Buting, with a heartfelt speech, managed to encourage Huo Xingchen to regain her spirit. They made an agreement that if she could defeat Jiang Buting in seven days, he would take her with him when he returned to the martial world.

Mu Binghe sought out Huo Qingliu, hoping he could intervene and help Huo Xingchen. However, Huo Qingliu made it clear that Mu Binghe wasn't yet a prospective son-in-law and advised him to deal with the roaming "unusual people" first.

Episode 10 Recap

The seven-day agreement came to fruition as scheduled. Huo Xingchen, with her unyielding determination, managed to defeat Jiang Buting with her techniques, despite her numerous injuries. According to their agreement, Jiang Buting took Huo Xingchen with him into the martial world.

At an inn, Jiang Buying mentioned a lead about the "unusual people" in the Qingfeng Stronghold. Upon hearing this, Huo Xingchen decided to investigate, and Jiang Buting, concerned for her safety, accompanied her. Inside the Qingfeng Stronghold, they were spotted by patrolmen, but fortunately, they were rescued by Doctor Hao. Doctor Hao informed them about the "unusual people" in Xicao Village. The two decided to immediately head to Xicao Village.

Mu Yaoguang, who was deeply devoted to the Circle Knights, had escaped to follow her ideal heroes and ended up in Xicao Village, where she encountered Huo Xingchen disguised as a man.

Episode 11 Recap

Mu Yaoguang, knowing that Huo Xingchen was actually a girl, decided to follow her and venture into the martial world together. Jiang Buting and his group arrived at Xicao Village only to discover that Chen Jie and Xiaoyu had already left. They had been kidnapped by Yin Fengmian, the junior valley master of the Hidden Spirit Valley. Inside a secret stone chamber, Yin Fengmian interrogated Chen Jie about how he could maintain his sanity, but Chen Jie had no answers. Yin Fengmian recalled the scene where Huo Xingchen turned into an "unusual person" and decided to capture her using the mist.

Jiang Buting tracked down Yin Fengmian outside the cave and subdued him. Upon questioning, they learned that the disciples of the Hidden Spirit Valley were all taking a strange poison pill. Together, they decided to bring Yin Fengmian back to the Hidden Spirit Valley to uncover the truth.

Episode 12 Recap

Buting finally found his long-lost master in the valley. Song Changsheng had been kidnapped from the pharmacy not long ago and forced to become a tool for making medicine.

Upon receiving the news, the Wuyue Sect also came to investigate the matter of the strange poison. Yin Fengmian deactivated the Hidden Spirit Valley's protective formation, allowing everyone to enter the valley. The valley master of the Hidden Spirit Valley activated a mechanism that caused Huo Xingchen to fall into a medicine furnace in the valley. The rest of the group was injured and unable to resist. Suddenly, the medicine furnace exploded, and Huo Xingchen flew out of it, her body absorbing the poisonous mist. She confronted the valley master, severely injuring him and turning the tide of the battle. However, Huo Xingchen suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Episode 13 Recap

Song Changsheng told everyone that Huo Xingchen had absorbed the power of many decades, and it was fortunate that she didn't explode but only fainted. The divine doctor has been researching how to awaken her, and after taking the Resurrection Pill, Huo Xingchen finally woke up. The Hidden Spirit Valley's sect master died from overdosing on the Poisonous Pill.

Mu Yaoguang pleaded with Mu Binghe to let her stay in the martial world a little longer, and Mu Binghe agreed to her request, but Mu Yaoguang needed to daily record the daily lives of Huo Xingchen and Jiang Buting and send letters via messenger pigeons to herself.

After waking up, Huo Xingchen revealed to her father her desire to create a different type of martial world, and her father was very pleased.

Episode 14 Recap

Jiang Buting's sudden health crisis erupted, and when he was on the brink of danger, Song Changsheng appeared at a critical moment, temporarily saving Jiang Buting's life. However, to completely cure Jiang Buting, they needed a rare medicinal herb called Xuanbing Grass, which happened to be the sacred herb of the Kunlun Tianque Sect. Huo Xingchen's grandmother was an elder in the Tianque Sect.

Huo Xingchen and her companions decided to go to the Tianque Sect to seek the medicine. Along the way, they encountered Yin Fengmian, who wanted to join their group. Yin Fengmian invited Huo Xingchen to Butterfly Valley to witness the monthly Dance of Ten Thousand Butterflies. Huo Xingchen willingly went, but she fell victim to an ambush by Yin Fengmian, while Huo Qingliu was attacked and fell into a coma. Mu Binghe, in his capacity as the future son-in-law of the Wuyue Sect, temporarily took over the sect.

Episode 15 Recap

Facing the betrayal of Yin Fengmian, Huo Xingchen was deeply disappointed but still couldn't bring herself to attack her former friend. In a critical moment, Jiang Buting deciphered Yin Fengmian's formation, rescuing Huo Xingchen, and Yin Fengmian took the opportunity to escape.

A large group of unusual people was entrusted to Song Changsheng for treatment, but Song Changsheng didn't research new antidotes. Instead, he used many strange and rare poisons.

In the hidden corners of the martial world, Huo Xingchen and her companions frequently encountered ambushes, while Yin Fengmian secretly eliminated those who posed a threat to Huo Xingchen. Huo Xingchen unexpectedly discovered several similarities between Jiang Buting and her idol, the Fork Hero, which made her suspect that Jiang Buting might be the Fork Hero, prompting her to conduct further investigations.

Episode 16 Recap

The four of them continued on their journey, but ahead, they had to take a boat on the waterway. Since Mu Yaoguang suffered from seasickness, Jiang Buying decided to take the mountain route with her, so they split into two groups. Their plan was to meet up at the Tranquil Palace of Jiang Buting's Uncle Yuwen Hao. However, Jiang Buying's peculiar way of thinking in the mountains made Mu Yaoguang's experience miserable.

Jiang Buting and Huo Xingchen encountered an ambush, and suddenly the Fork Hero appeared and rescued Huo Xingchen. Seizing the opportunity, Huo Xingchen lifted the Fork Hero's mask, revealing Mu Binghe's face underneath. Mu Binghe and Huo Xingchen had made a secret pact that keeping his identity as the Fork Hero a secret was essential. Jiang Buting, convinced that the Fork Hero was Huo Xingchen, became very angry, and they argued over whether that was the case.

Upon reaching the Tranquil Palace, they were astonished by the multiple personalities of the two palace masters and the prepared meal.

Episode 17 Recap

When Jiang Buting went to find Huo Xingchen, the suppressed jealousy within him erupted, and they had a heated argument because of Mu Binghe. However, Huo Xingchen took a moment for self-reflection, and the two of them finally called a truce and reconciled. The four of them reunited at the Tranquil Palace, and with Mu Binghe joining them, the four-person team became a five-person team. Yuwen Hao gave Jiang Buting some common items from the Tranquil Palace as a gift.

On the way, Huo Xingchen consumed Song Changsheng's Resurrection Pill, but this time it had a side effect of cognitive confusion. Huo Xingchen lost her sense of aesthetics and arrived in the eerie and terrifying town of Huai. Her behavior became uncontrollable, and she unexpectedly collapsed alongside Mu Binghe due to the toxic gas in the forbidden area.

Episode 18 Recap

Mu Binghe and Huo Xingchen, holding hands, remained unconscious. The village doctor informed Jiang Buting that the two had inhaled the toxic gas called "Huangliang Yimeng" in the forbidden area, and they were trapped in a hallucinatory realm, facing a potential life-threatening situation.

Within the hallucinatory realm, Huo Xingchen was the young miss of the Wuyue Sect, about to marry her childhood friend, Mu Binghe! In reality, Jiang Buting decided to take a risk and enter the "Huangliang Yimeng" to awaken the lost Huo Xingchen.

Jiang Buting entered the "Huangliang Yimeng," attempting to jog Huo Xingchen's memory, but he was suddenly struck through the heart by Mu Binghe, who had returned unexpectedly! Time rewound, and Jiang Buting started anew in his efforts to wake up Huo Xingchen.

Episode 19 Recap

However, in the end, Jiang Buting managed to awaken Huo Xingchen, but Mu Binghe, as the controller of the dream realm, was unwilling to wake up. Mu Binghe decided to kill Jiang Buting again, but Huo Xingchen protected Jiang Buting. This scene left Mu Binghe disheartened, and he subsequently took his own life with his sword, shattering the dream realm.

Chen Jie and Xiaoyu told Jiang Buting the reasons behind the formation of the Unusual People Village. They didn't trust Song Changsheng and suspected that he was conducting experiments on them. Jiang Buting was reluctant to believe this, but he secretly infiltrated the Star-Pickers and finally met Song Changsheng. It was then that Jiang Buting learned that Song Changsheng had been experimenting on the Unusual People all along. Song Changsheng tried to control Jiang Buting, but Huo Xingchen appeared and rescued Jiang Buting.

Episode 20 Recap

The head of the Star-Picking Sect issued an order to capture and kill Jiang Buting and Huo Xingchen, leading to a pursuit by the sect's members. They were chased into a bamboo forest but were ultimately rescued by the six elders living deep within the forest.

Jiang Buting and his group noticed that the recent Wulin Express was causing a stir. In order to stop the situation from escalating, Mu Yaoguang wrote about Song Changsheng's experiments on the Unusual People in the latest edition of the Legendary Heroes of the Martial World.

Huo Xingchen and her group charged into the Star-Picking Sect along with other martial artists. They successfully resolved the crisis brought by the Star-Picking Sect. With Huo Xingchen's guidance and company, Jiang Buting decided to face everything head-on.

Jiang Buying overheard a conversation between Huo Xingchen and Jiang Buting and learned that Mu Yaoguang was the anonymous writer. Filled with anger, he went to confront Mu Yaoguang.

Episode 21 Recap

Feeling deceived, Jiang Buying and Mu Yaoguang had a big argument. Mu Yaoguang decided to leave, and Jiang Buying was shocked when he realized that Mu Yaoguang was a girl. This discovery led to another heated argument, and they parted ways on bad terms.

Jiang Buting watched as Huo Xingchen spent time alone with Mu Binghe, making him unhappy. Huo Xingchen hoped that Mu Binghe would tell Jiang Buting the truth about being the Fork Hero. Mu Binghe agreed and dressed as the Fork Hero to confess to Jiang Buting. Jiang Buting was furious and declared that it was impossible for Mu Binghe to be the Fork Hero because he was the real Fork Hero. However, Huo Xingchen didn't believe him.

At this moment, everyone learned that Mu Yaoguang was to be married to the Holy Son of the Western Region. Huo Xingchen and her companions went to rescue her, successfully rescuing Mu Yaoguang.

Episode 22 Recap

Huo Xingchen drank water that Mu Binghe had drugged, leaving her extremely weak and unable to resist. Consequently, she was abducted by Mu Binghe. Jiang Buting fought Mu Binghe with the Fork Hero's left-handed saber.

Dormant memories were awakened, and Mu Binghe, who had always believed he was the Fork Hero, realized the truth that he was not the Fork Hero but rather a coward. Upon returning to the inn with Jiang Buting, they encountered Huo Jianwa, who told Huo Xingchen that saving Huo Qingliu would also require Xuanbing Grass. To collect Xuanbing Grass, they needed to master the martial world's ultimate skill, "Heaven's Scroll," which came with great risks. To save her father and lover, Huo Xingchen resolutely decided to practice the "Heaven's Scroll."

Episode 23 Recap

Mu Lang led his subordinates to attack the Wuyue Sect, and Huo Xingchen's friends also arrived at the Wuyue Sect to resist Mu Lang and his subordinates.

Mu Binghe, who had been force-fed a special pill, was released by his father, Mu Lang. At this point, Mu Binghe had lost his sanity, and Jiang Buting was no match for him. Finally, Huo Xingchen successfully mastered the "Heaven's Scroll" and attempted to awaken Mu Binghe. Mu Binghe eventually regained consciousness. In an attempt to save Huo Xingchen, Mu Lang, who had come to attack her, struck him fatally in the heart with a palm, resulting in his death. With everything settled, Huo Xingchen returned with the medicine and learned that the Xuanbing Grass required a pair of them to be considered one. The cliff where the Xuanbing Grass grew had collapsed, and Huo Qingliu and Jiang Buting could only save one person.

Episode 24 (Ending) Recap

Song Changsheng, claiming he could save Jiang Buting, deceived Huo Xingchen into undergoing a final experiment. Song Changsheng successfully provoked Huo Xingchen, leading to a confrontation between Huo Xingchen and Song Changsheng. Song Changsheng thought he could absorb Huo Xingchen's power during this opportunity but was unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Jiang Buting directly gave the only piece of Xuanbing Grass to Huo Qingliu.

Mu Lang committed suicide in prison, and Jiang Buting visited Song Changsheng in the dungeon once again. During a pulse check, Song Changsheng secretly provided Jiang Buting with the prescription for the Red Pill, allowing Jiang Buting to administer the right medicine, which helped him recover.

Later on, Huo Xingchen succeeded as the leader of the Wuyue Sect, and the martial arts world eventually returned to peace.
