Prime Minister brought a physician to the Jun residence, claiming to check on Master Jun’s leg. When Jun Qiluo returned, the physician deliberately pressed on Master Jun’s leg to cause pain. Seizing the opportunity as Jun Qiluo reached out to examine his leg, the physician took his pulse and confirmed it as a pregnancy pulse. In that moment, Jun Qiluo realized she had been deceived.

The Prime Minister planned to enter the palace to inform the King of Yan Nan about Jun Qiluo’s pregnancy. The Jun family knew they could not sit idly by. Xuan Lie initially wanted to personally explain to the King of Yan Nan that he had forced Jun Qiluo, but Jun Qiluo refused. Xuan Lie argued that there was no explicit rule forbidding marriages between the two nations.

As long as he promised that Bei Xuan would not attack Yan Nan, he believed the King of Yan Nan might show leniency. Jun Qiluo’s second sister’s embroidery shop officially opened. Following Xuan Lie’s instructions, Luo Qi delivered a congratulatory gift and happened to see the third young lady busy in the shop. At that moment, she heard news that Xuan Lie and Jun Qiluo had entered the palace and might be in danger. Worried for Xuan Lie, she sought out Luo Qi and took him to find He Jiyao, determined to enter the palace and rescue Xuan Lie.

Jun Qiluo truthfully recounted everything that happened between her and Xuan Lie. The King of Yan Nan agreed to spare her but demanded that Xuan Lie leave within three days. Master Jun quickly expressed his gratitude. For Shao Qimin, this was a failure of duty, and he was bound to be punished.

Fortunately, Xuan Qingkou arrived in time and declared that Shao Qimin was the imperial son-in-law of Bei Xuan, and the King of Yan Nan could not arbitrarily execute him. The King of Yan Nan kept Shao Qimin behind alone. He understood that Shao Qimin had come today prepared to die, but he did not intend to kill him just yet.

The reason the King chose to spare Jun Qiluo was that he had no intention of letting Xuan Lie and her child go so easily. Shao Qimin understood the King’s intent—exiling Xuan Lie was merely a means to have him killed outside Yan Nan’s borders. Otherwise, if Jun Qiluo passed down the Bai Gong (Hundred Crafts) techniques to the child, this child—carrying Bei Xuan’s bloodline—would become a major threat in the future. That evening, Shao Qimin had tea with Jun Qiluo and Xuan Lie, taking the opportunity to inform them of the King’s arrangements. He suggested they investigate the market in the lawless border region.

In reality, Shao Qimin had already made up his mind to ensure their escape, even if it cost him his life. Later that night, he returned home for a meal and, seeing Xuan Qingkou, felt deep guilt. He reassured her that after completing this final task, he would return to Bei Xuan with her. However, while driving the carriage, Shao Qimin suddenly jumped off midway. Jun Qiluo and Xuan Lie inside the carriage were unaware of what had happened.

Left behind alone, Shao Qimin was quickly surrounded. Though highly skilled in martial arts, he was ultimately outnumbered and suffered fatal wounds. By the time Xuan Qingkou arrived with He Jiyao and Luo Qi, it was too late. She found the severely wounded Shao Qimin. He was full of remorse but still thinking of Jun Qiluo.

With his last strength, he handed over his Yucha Si (Imperial Investigation Bureau) token to Xuan Qingkou, asking her to give it to Jun Qiluo. Sensing that something was wrong, Jun Qiluo and Xuan Lie turned the carriage around and rushed back. But by the time they arrived, Shao Qimin had already passed away, leaving Jun Qiluo heartbroken. Meanwhile, Jun Qiluo’s second sister handed over the belongings left by the Prime Minister’s servant to Jun Qiluo and Xuan Lie.

The servant had discovered the Prime Minister’s secret and deliberately tipped off Jun Qiluo. That night, Luo Qi and He Jiyao infiltrated the Prime Minister’s residence. Following the clues in a hidden drawing, they entered his study and uncovered evidence of his secret dealings with the Xi clan of Bei Xuan. The next day, Jun Qiluo led the Imperial Investigation Bureau to surround the Prime Minister’s residence.

They presented the evidence before the King, who, upon realizing the extent of the Prime Minister’s treachery, was enraged and ordered his execution. However, the King was also furious that Jun Qiluo had mobilized the Imperial Investigation Bureau without authorization, which resulted in additional punishment for the Jun family.
