Xuan Lie watched as Jun Qiluo was taken away. He rushed to the King and declared that Jun Qiluo had already made great efforts to protect the peace between the two nations. If the King insisted on punishing her, he feared that the people of Yan Nan would no longer be truly loyal to him. Hearing this, the King demanded that Xuan Lie promise to always prioritize the peace between the two nations, dedicating his entire life to proving it.

Only after Xuan Lie agreed did the King order Jun Qiluo’s release. Xuan Qingkou was deeply shaken. It was as if she had suddenly forgotten that Shao Qimin had passed away. She began packing, preparing to take Shao Qimin back to Bei Xuan with her. Seeing this, Xuan Lie played along, falsely claiming that Shao Qimin had gone to handle affairs in the lawless region and would meet her in Bei Xuan later.

The Jun family held an honorable funeral for Shao Qimin. Master Jun adopted him posthumously as a godson. Jun Qiluo could only wish that in his next life, Shao Qimin would live for himself. Luo Qi brought news of Xi Xiang to Xuan Lie—Luo Zhizhou was recruiting soldiers, and Concubine Li had recently passed away. Xuan Lie realized that his brother, the King of Bei Xuan, was in danger.

At the same time, Sun Zhaomin had led troops to suppress bandits, leaving the King without competent generals. Upon hearing their conversation, Jun Qiluo urged Xuan Lie to return to Bei Xuan. Recognizing Jun Qiluo’s determination to protect the nation, the King agreed, stating that as long as she remained loyal to the country, the Jun family would have nothing to fear for generations. Luo Zhizhou led his troops in an assault on the royal palace. Only then did Xuan Xu realize that Luo Zhizhou was still alive—it was Xuan Lie who had spared him.

Just as Luo Zhizhou was about to kill Xuan Xu, Xuan Lie arrived in time to protect him. Luo Zhizhou could not understand why Xuan Lie would defend Xuan Xu. After all, they had once fought together to put Xuan Xu on the throne, but now, Xuan Xu had turned against them.

Xuan Lie could not bring himself to kill Luo Zhizhou, but Luo Zhizhou, accepting his fate, threw himself onto Xuan Lie’s blade, finally reuniting with his fallen comrades from the Brahma Sound Sect. Dong Yin also perished under the soldiers’ swords. Xuan Xu hoped that Xuan Lie would continue serving as the Wolf Lord, as Bei Xuan now lacked capable generals. Seeing the situation, Xuan Lie accepted the Wolf Lord’s seal once more.

However, he knew that Xuan Xu was also troubled about selecting someone to guard the lawless region. So, Xuan Lie volunteered for the task, and after some thought, Xuan Xu agreed. After his victorious return, Luo Qi immediately traveled to Yan Nan to find the third young lady. She was overjoyed to see him back, and the Jun family gave them their full blessings. Jun Qiluo gave birth to twins.

She and Xuan Lie discussed leaving one child in Yan Nan to be educated. It was not to separate them from their flesh and blood, but rather to ensure that in the future, someone would inherit their responsibilities and continue maintaining peace between the two nations.
