After being influenced by the idea that she "likes Ling Chao," Xiao Tu starts to avoid him. Ling Chao feels that he can't just sit idly, so he decides to take a gradual approach, first making his presence felt and then being more direct. Ling Chao helps Xiao Tu reserve a seat in the library but ends up falling asleep from exhaustion. Xiao Tu looks at his sleeping face and someone takes a picture, but the photo is cropped before being posted online. Xiao Tu realizes that this incident has caused her to feel irritated.
As Ling Chao's birthday approaches, Xiao Tu comes up with the idea of knitting him a scarf. Xiao Tu begins to face her own feelings but is unsure if Ling Chao truly likes her.
However, when Xiao Tu learns that Xu Linglong has also knitted a scarf for Ling Chao, she becomes upset and gives the scarf she knitted to her father in frustration. Empty-handed, Xiao Tu attends Ling Chao's birthday banquet. Amidst the teasing of the crowd, Xiao Tu still ends up buying Ling Chao a shirt. Although they don't say it outright, the two have already entered into a sweet entanglement.
