With the cooperation of Su Qingli and Lin Yuan, Su Chengcheng successfully pulled off her disguise. What’s more, Tang Qi developed deep admiration for Fang Jin. During their conversation, Tang Qi's thoughts drifted back to Su Miao, causing him to feel somewhat depressed. He realized that he had been thinking about Fang Jin constantly, which made him feel like a fickle man who easily fell for different women.
The next day at work, Su Chengcheng happened to take the elevator with Tang Qi and noticed that he seemed down. She found it odd, as he had clearly enjoyed his meeting with Fang Jin the previous night—his sudden shift in attitude was puzzling. It wasn’t until the other people in the elevator started discussing a movie that Su Chengcheng realized his mood might be related to Su Miao.
Meanwhile, Guan Shengyu reached out to another company, attempting to sell Fang Jin’s patent. To sabotage the deal, Su Chengcheng and her sister devised a plan. First, Su Chengcheng, disguised as Fang Jin, arranged to meet Tang Qi at a café. Then, she deliberately revealed some documents in front of Guan Shengyu, making him believe that Tang Qi was meeting with President Xiang.
Thinking that Tang Qi was trying to sabotage his business deal, Guan Shengyu rushed to confront him at the café. At the same time, Su Chengcheng, still disguised as Fang Jin, went with her sister to the new partner company and rejected the collaboration. After waiting at the café for a long time with no sign of the new partner, Guan Shengyu realized he had been tricked. He hurried to find President Xiang but ran into Su Chengcheng instead.
Unable to hold back her frustration, Su Chengcheng wanted to hit Guan Shengyu but noticed the surveillance cameras and deliberately acted weak. Just as Guan Shengyu was about to make a move, Tang Qi suddenly appeared to protect "Fang Jin" but ended up getting hit himself. Since the final patent for the product had not been decided, the product concept remained unclear. As a result, the business partners Gu Yu had contacted were unwilling to invest.
Just as Gu Yu and Tang Qi were struggling to convince them, the client’s daughter ran in and saw the book that she had previously asked Gu Yu to get signed by Lin Yuan. Touched by the effort and sincerity, the client decided to continue supporting Qianiaoji Corporation. On the way back, Gu Yu suggested having a meal together to celebrate Fang Jin’s help. Tang Qi, however, became visibly nervous and firmly opposed the idea.
He felt that since he had once loved Su Miao, he shouldn’t develop feelings for another woman. Gu Yu noticed Tang Qi’s strange behavior but didn’t comment on it, choosing instead to comfort him. To ease Tang Qi’s struggle, Gu Yu suggested that his feelings for Fang Jin might just be sympathy, which Tang Qi had misinterpreted as affection. He assured Tang Qi that after spending more time with Fang Jin, he would understand their true relationship.
After hearing Gu Yu’s reasoning, Tang Qi decided to test himself and immediately went to find Fang Jin. At the company, Su Chengcheng was working overtime with Wang Yi—since their team consisted of only the two of them. When Xu Yue left work, she even mocked Su Chengcheng. While Su Chengcheng was busy working, she received a message from Tang Qi, saying he wanted to see Fang Jin.
Not wanting to meet him, Su Chengcheng used work as an excuse to refuse, but Tang Qi insisted on going to the lab to find Fang Jin. With no other choice, she hurriedly left the company and rushed to the lab to play her role. When Tang Qi arrived at Fang Jin’s lab, he pretended to ask about technical issues. Su Chengcheng panicked upon hearing this—since she didn’t actually understand the technology, she feared he would see through her act.
To divert the conversation, she quickly claimed to be hungry and suggested they eat first and talk later. During the meal, both were preoccupied with their own thoughts. Tang Qi was trying hard to suppress his emotions and not reveal any affection, while Su Chengcheng was worried about slipping up. Suddenly, a power outage occurred, locking the electronic door and trapping them inside the lab.
Instead of panicking, Su Chengcheng was secretly relieved—without power, the computers couldn’t turn on, meaning she wouldn’t have to discuss technical matters with Tang Qi. Unbeknownst to them, the power outage was no accident. Guan Shengyu, suspecting that Tang Qi and Fang Jin had a romantic relationship, had orchestrated the blackout, hoping to catch them in a compromising situation.
