Filter Episode 28 Recap
> Filter Recap
The next day, Su Chengcheng woke up and saw her reflection missing in the mirror. She tried to take off the bracelet, but no matter how hard she tried, it wouldn’t come off. Tang Qi had already prepared breakfast for Su Chengcheng. After they ate, they prepared to search for the elderly woman who had given Su Chengcheng the bracelet. Since Su Chengcheng was invisible, she couldn’t go to work and had to take a sick leave.
Lin Yuan, having heard about Su Chengcheng’s leave from Gu Yu, was very worried and called her. However, no matter what Su Chengcheng said, Lin Yuan couldn’t hear her. Feeling frustrated, Su Chengcheng texted Lin Yuan instead, even asking under what circumstances a person could become invisible. Lin Yuan replied that if one wanted to face the consequences, they must first face the cause.
Su Chengcheng understood—since she had chosen to wear the filter in the first place, she now had to face the situation herself. With that realization, she bravely stepped out of her home. When Su Chengcheng tried to hail a taxi, she realized she couldn’t get in. Suddenly, it hit her—she was invisible, and others couldn’t see or hear her. Disappointed, she had no choice but to cancel the ride.
Walking on the streets, she had to be extra cautious, avoiding people and vehicles to ensure her own safety. Since she couldn’t take a taxi, she had no choice but to take a bus. Even on the bus, Su Chengcheng remained extremely careful, making sure not to touch anyone. Meanwhile, Tang Qi found out that the elderly woman who had given Su Chengcheng the bracelet had appeared at a flower shop, so he went there to ask about her.
However, the flower shop owner firmly stated that she had never seen such an elderly woman. Disappointed, Tang Qi turned to leave, but the shop owner, finding him handsome, used the excuse of keeping an eye out for the woman as a reason to ask for his WeChat. Just then, the wind chime at the shop’s entrance suddenly rang—Tang Qi immediately knew Su Chengcheng had arrived. He reached out and held Su Chengcheng’s hand, deliberately ignoring the shop owner’s request.
Tang Qi asked Su Chengcheng why she didn’t wait at home and had come out instead. Su Chengcheng texted him, explaining that she needed to face the situation herself. Seeing her message, Tang Qi respected her decision. At that moment, the police station called. Tang Qi had previously asked the police to help search for the elderly woman. Su Chengcheng and Tang Qi went to the station, where they found information about her.
However, according to the police, the elderly woman had passed away two years ago. Both Tang Qi and Su Chengcheng were stunned—Su Chengcheng had only met her recently, which meant the person she encountered wasn’t actually the woman they were looking for. Tang Qi speculated that since the filter could transform appearances, the person Su Chengcheng met might not have been the real elderly woman at all—or perhaps not even a woman or a man.
Now, they had no idea how to continue the search. Tang Qi reached out to his classmates to check if any laboratory had ever researched such a bracelet. Meanwhile, Lin Yuan approached Gu Yu, sensing that something must have happened to Su Chengcheng since she wasn’t coming to work. She hoped to get some answers from Gu Yu. Su Chengcheng came up with a straightforward but extreme solution—cutting off the bracelet.
However, after trying multiple methods, she couldn’t even leave a scratch on it. Realizing she needed professional help and large equipment, she also knew that the bracelet was tightly attached to her wrist, making it easy to injure herself. During the process of attempting to cut the bracelet, Su Chengcheng got injured. Concerned, Tang Qi went to buy medicine for her, leaving her alone on a bench.
While waiting, Su Chengcheng saw a group of people bullying a child and stepped in to help. On her way back to the bench, a stray soccer ball suddenly hit her, knocking her unconscious. She collapsed on the street, while cars continued to pass by. Meanwhile, Tang Qi couldn’t find Su Chengcheng and became extremely anxious. To locate her, he took off his glasses and used his special four-color vision to scan the surroundings.
Finally, he spotted Su Chengcheng lying on the road—just as a car was speeding toward her. Without hesitation, Tang Qi rushed forward and stopped the vehicle just in time. Wang Yi and others, worried about Su Chengcheng, wanted to visit her at home. However, Su Chengcheng’s parents believed she was on a business trip. Though they didn’t say it outright, they knew something was wrong. Her father decided to test her by sending a message, claiming he had fallen.
Seeing this, Tang Qi had no choice but to take the invisible Su Chengcheng back home. As soon as they arrived, they ran into Su Qingli. Witnessing the strange situation, Su Qingli was completely shocked.
