Song Yan saw the hostile look in Meng Yanchen's eyes. He remembered that Meng Yanchen had the same expression when he found out that Xu Qin was dating him back in high school. Based on a boy's intuition, Song Yan could tell that Meng Yanchen also cared about Xu Qin. Although they were siblings, they were not related by blood.

Xiao Yixiao drove Xu Qin and Meng Yanchen home. Meng Yanchen asked Xiao Yixiao to drop them off, and Xiao Yixiao was somewhat surprised. He thought Xu Qin was just drunk and acting out, and it wouldn't be good for her parents to see her in this state. Meng Yanchen checked the time and realized that their parents were already asleep. He didn't want Xu Qin to be hurt again and believed that being at home would be safer.

Once they were settled, Meng Yanchen looked at Xu Qin sleeping soundly on the bed. He couldn't understand why Xu Qin was so heartbroken when she was forced to break up back then. Now, even after studying abroad and returning, she was still entangled with Song Yan.

The next day, after Song Yan woke up and prepared to leave, his sister asked if he was going to see Xu Qin. She also advised him that Xu Qin's outburst the previous night might have been due to the alcohol and that she could change her mind when she woke up. Song Yan still decided to visit Xu Qin. He had seen how distressed she was yesterday, and if he didn't go to see her today, there might not be another chance in the future.

As Song Yan was about to leave, his aunt returned home. His uncle told Song Yan that he could go and see Xu Qin but as a man, he shouldn't fall into the same trap twice. He reminded Song Yan to hold onto the last bit of his dignity. Song Yan nodded and left.

Xu Qin brought Song Yan to her place. When she heard that Xu Qin wanted porridge, Song Yan personally cooked it for her. While cooking, Song Yan asked Xu Qin if what she said last night was true. Xu Qin responded that she remembered some things but not everything clearly. Song Yan further reminded her that she cried and asked why he couldn't get closer to her. If Xu Qin's feelings for him were genuine, Song Yan would consider getting closer to her. Once they were close, he wouldn't easily leave. However, Xu Qin needed to think it through. If she wasn't sure, she shouldn't recklessly intrude into his life again. Song Yan assured Xu Qin that if she was willing, he would do his best to treat her well, but he didn't know if his efforts would satisfy her family.

Xu Qin looked into Song Yan's eyes and saw his sincerity. Now that Song Yan was willing to take this step, the key question was whether Xu Qin was determined enough. As long as Xu Qin made a decision, he would proceed without hesitation and take on the responsibility. Xu Qin struggled to make a choice, and Song Yan sensed her hesitation. After the porridge was cooked, he silently left.

After finishing their meal, Xu Qin prepared to go home and ran into Meng Yanchen downstairs. Meng Yanchen personally drove her to work. Xu Qin knew that Meng Yanchen was very concerned about her and couldn't help but say that she was being too greedy. She wanted her parents not to worry about her, but she also didn't want to leave this home. She wanted to be with Song Yan.
