At the breakfast table, Song Yan's cousin Zhai Miao asked him if he had been dumped by Xu Qin again. She blamed her brother for having a poor memory, saying that once falling into a pit was enough, but he persisted and pursued Xu Qin, only to end up disappointed.

Song Yan disagreed with his cousin's assessment of Xu Qin as arrogant and aloof. He believed that Xu Qin was actually quite timid, willing to sacrifice her own freedom for the sake of her family. Without any rescue tools and with poor signal reception in the area, Song Yan had no choice but to ask the firefighters to take the hikers back while he stayed behind to watch over Junping.

Jiang Yu escorted the hikers back to the fire station, thinking that they had suffered serious injuries. He took extra care of them throughout the journey, providing assistance and support. However, upon reaching the fire station, he was astonished to see the hikers running into the arms of their parents. It turned out they were fine, but the firefighters had risked their lives by falling into the gorge while trying to save them. These tourists, however, were only concerned about their own safety and urged the firefighters to save them first, displaying extreme selfishness.

Upon returning home, Xu Qin couldn't reach Song Yan on the phone and became very worried. Firefighters face various unexpected situations during rescue missions every day, so not having news about Song Yan made Xu Qin extremely anxious.

Song Yan stayed by Junping's side, holding him and keeping him warm. Later, his fellow firefighters returned and immediately rescued Junping. On the way back, Jiang Yu felt disappointed in human nature, while Song Yan took it in stride and comforted him, saying that spending too much time living in a glass enclosure made him accustomed to encountering all kinds of situations. Jiang Yu sighed, realizing that when he first joined the fire station, it was out of his overflowing love. He never expected to encounter so many challenges once he immersed himself in it.
