Xu Qin declined Song Yan's offer to drive her home. Over the phone, Song Yan told Xu Qin that he would miss her, but Zhai Miao overheard this and teased him, only to be playfully held back by Song Yan. Zhai Miao had come to ask Song Yan to evaluate a set of photos she took from a straight guy's perspective. The photos were of Ye Zi, and after looking at them, Song Yan commented that there was no difference. Zhai Miao called him a "stereotypical straight guy" and asked if Xu Qin had never sent him photos, suggesting that Xu Qin treated him like an outsider. However, Song Yan reminded her that Xu Qin's face belonged to her. Zhai Miao decided to sign a contract with Ye Zi, as she could earn more than 10,000 yuan in a month by promoting products. Song Yan joked with "Aunt" Zhai Miao but then asked her to give him a shoulder massage and leg rub.

When Xu Qin returned home to have dinner with her parents, Fu Wenying noticed that her brother (Song Yan) seemed unhappy and asked Xu Qin to inquire about it. Xu Qin put down her chopsticks and admitted that she had a boyfriend. Fu Wenying asked for how long, and Xu Qin replied it had been over a month. Fu Wenying told her to break up directly. Feeling suffocated, Xu Qin gathered her courage and revealed that her boyfriend was someone she had known for over ten years, and he was none other than Song Yan from before. Fu Wenying was angry and put down her chopsticks, saying she knew there was a problem since Xu Qin hadn't come home for over a month. Both Fu Wenying and Meng Huaijin felt that Song Yan was out of reach and that he could take several decades off to achieve his dreams. They also pointed out that Xu Qin and Song Yan came from different backgrounds and were not suitable for each other. However, Xu Qin was determined to be with Song Yan. Despite their objections, Xu Qin quietly left the house, leaving behind the keys to the house and the car, expressing her gratitude to the Meng family for raising her and promising to come back to be a filial daughter, even if they no longer recognized her as part of the family. Meng Huaijin and Fu Wenying were even more furious, accusing her of giving up her parents and brother for a man. Meng Huaijin said Xu Qin had disappointed him greatly and then went upstairs.

At Song Yan's home, they were about to have dinner when he received a call from Xu Qin. He found her on a bridge, and she said she didn't want to return to that home. So, Song Yan took Xu Qin to his own home. At the doorstep, he gave Xu Qin the keys to the house, one for the main gate and one for his room. Song Yan assured her that "Aunt" knew she wasn't talkative, so she didn't need to try to please his uncle and aunt. Upon returning home, the whole family was waiting for them. "Aunt" had added two more dishes, and Xu Qin felt a warm atmosphere. Zhai Miao suggested that she could return to school earlier and give her room to Xu Qin, but quickly covered her mouth, realizing that she had spoken out of place. "Aunt" prepared two sets of bedding for them, and they went to bed. Song Yan complained of an itch on his back, and Xu Qin helped him scratch it.

Uncle designed a dressing table for Xu Qin, but "Aunt" suggested buying one, afraid that Xu Qin might not like it and it would be difficult to refuse. After seeing the design, they both agreed that it looked good, and Uncle said he would also make one for "Aunt." Xu Qin felt very touched by their consideration.

Song Yan and Xu Qin went together to pick a bed, taking a long time to find one they both liked. However, the delivery would take two weeks, so Song Yan suggested they move it themselves and called the firefighters for help. When the team members saw Xu Qin, they excitedly called her "sister-in-law," and she was very happy.
