When Xu Qin returned home, the family was having dinner, but Song Yan was not there. He had suddenly gone to the fire station. Uncle and Aunt warmly welcomed Xu Qin to join the meal, serving her food and praising the specially made chicken wings for her, which made Xu Qin very happy.

Meng Yanchen was working overtime at the company when he received a message from Ye Zi, saying that he had broken her family's vase last time. After going to a concert together, Meng Yanchen calmly asked if he was the one who broke the vase. Ye Zi felt embarrassed and was about to leave, but Meng Yanchen told her there were too many people outside to get a taxi, so he would take her home. Ye Zi mentioned that the vase was not worth even a tenth of the price of the concert, and Meng Yanchen responded that it had nothing to do with him since he didn't break it. In the car, Ye Zi accidentally saw a photo of Xu Qin and Meng Yanchen together, but she pretended not to have seen it. This comment upset Meng Yanchen, but Ye Zi quickly asked if she had said something wrong, and he replied that she hadn't.

While talking on the phone, Xu Qin was lying on the bed, saying that the house was filled with Song Yan's scent. Song Yan said he was also not used to leaving her alone at home.

The next day, Xu Qin had no car, so she had to run to work. Meng Yanchen stopped his car in front of her and asked her to get in. In the car, Meng Yanchen said his mother had called to tell him that Xu Qin had broken ties with the family because of Song Yan. Xu Qin denied it, saying she would go home to visit her parents. He asked Xu Qin if she had been happy during this period, and she stubbornly replied that she was happy with Song Yan. The atmosphere between them was tense. Upon arriving at their destination, Xu Qin asked Meng Yanchen to talk to her mother on her behalf, but he said it wouldn't work and that he wouldn't help her. Angry, Xu Qin got out of the car and questioned if he found her distress enjoyable. Meng Yanchen retorted, asking what distress he would have when he finally got the person he wanted. On the way home, Meng Yanchen received a message from Xu Qin, in which she expressed her hope that he could be happy and not live so repressed.

Meng Yanchen worked late into the night and then received an invitation from Ye Zi to go out. They chatted in a noisy environment, but Meng Yanchen admitted that he didn't really like such places. They walked by the river, and Meng Yanchen mentioned that he had many insect specimens at home. Ye Zi asked if she could see them, but he said it was his home and she couldn't go. Ye Zi was a bit helpless. She talked about her major, saying she studied biology, but didn't perform well enough to get hired through campus recruitment. Even though she wanted to work in a related field, it was impossible. Ye Zi said she was now making around ten thousand yuan a month, but in this industry, her appearance mattered a lot, and she was considering plastic surgery. She asked Meng Yanchen if he thought she needed it too. They stared at each other for a long time before Meng Yanchen distanced himself from her.

Back at the dorm, Zhai Miao was angry that Ye Zi didn't answer her calls or messages for half a day, feeling like she was the only one caring about their account. Ye Zi kept apologizing and explained that it was too noisy, and she didn't hear anything; it wasn't intentional. Ye Zi said she had quit all those jobs, but Zhai Miao was still upset and ignored her.

At the fire station, Song Yan was training the team members and later sent a video to Suo Jun showing the trophies, telling him that they were all thanks to Suo Jun.

Song Yan and Jiang Yu were playing chess, and they planned to finish the game they had started last time.

Song Yan and Xu Qin were both working hard at their respective positions and could only contact each other through their phones.

In the hospital office, people were speculating whether Xu Qin would be chosen by Director Xu. Some said she had a strong background and the position was reserved for her. At this moment, Dr. Yang said Xu Qin deserved the opportunity because of her hard work during the rescue mission.

Meng Yanchen was in a café, and overheard people discussing how internet celebrities looked more fake the more plastic surgery they got. His mind was in turmoil, and he arranged to have dinner with Ye Zi.

Zhai Miao and Ye Zi were discussing their lack of fans and low data. While choosing clothes, Ye Zi found a concert ticket and realized that Ye Zi had been at a concert that day.
