The mother and son caused trouble on the rooftop, demanding the hospital to compensate them for their daughter-in-law's life. The hospital tried to appease them, while the police and firefighters cooperated. Xu Qin appeared and was confident that those two wouldn't jump. The hospital would never give them money, which meant that Dr. Yang's life would be tainted, and her life should not be ruined by such people. She criticized the man for lacking money and ability, yet still trying to extort money using his deceased wife. Xu Qin's actions were reprimanded by the vice president. Though she had good intentions, as a doctor, her behavior, and the remarks she made could cause damage to her reputation once they were posted online. The vice president decided not to punish Xu Qin but advised her to handle things more discreetly.

Jiang Yu's family found out about the incident and insisted that he change his job. Jiang Yu was distressed; although he had already decided not to leave, he pretended to be troubled in front of Song Yan, just to hear him say, "I also need you." That night, Uncle and Aunt specially welcomed Xu Qin at the alley entrance to make her feel less scared. They even cooked her favorite dumplings. Xu Qin told them she had seen Song Yan that day. Yesterday, they encountered an explosion during a mission. Though Song Yan was fine, she was still frightened. Uncle and Aunt assured her that Song Yan knew how to protect himself. Xu Qin asked them why Song Yan chose to be a firefighter. Uncle found it hard to explain and only said that he had volunteered because he couldn't be promoted in the military for some reasons. Aunt wanted to defend Song Yan, but Uncle asked her to rest and advised her not to interfere in their affairs and let the kids handle it themselves.

Xu Qin couldn't sleep peacefully and had a nightmare. Song Yan called her, saying he had two days off this week, and Xu Qin had already rearranged her schedule to have the weekend free. Xu Qin felt wronged and really missed Song Yan.

Xu Qin saw her beloved lying on the hospital bed, but she had to remain strong and save others. When Song Yan temporarily recovered, Xu Qin finally let go of her worries and cried in relief. Although Song Yan was okay, Xu Qin was angry. She only wanted Song Yan to be safe and asked him if he had considered changing jobs. She felt she was not noble or understanding, just a selfish person who didn't want Song Yan to be a hero.

The rest of the firefighters were also worried about Song Yan. Yang Chi and Xi Xi were together, despite her family's disapproval. Seeing them made Xi Xi cry for a long time due to worries and fear for his work. Xu Qin didn't cry, but her heart and mind were full of concern. When Song Yan returned home, Uncle and Aunt were worried about his low spirits. Song Yan felt useless, and they were also concerned that Xu Qin might be abandoned again.
