Xu Qin returned to Meng's house in a fit of anger and questioned Meng's mother if she was the one behind all of Song Yan's misfortunes. Meng's mother casually admitted to it without even offering an apology. This made Xu Qin even more devastated. Song Yan was the person she loved, and she had always treated Meng's mother as her own. Xu Qin felt heartbroken, realizing that she was just a tool used by Meng's family for political alliance purposes. Despite not being a perfect mother, Meng's mother argued that Xu Qin wasn't a perfect daughter either. Xu Qin, however, countered by saying she had always followed the rules and never gave Meng's mother a reason to be disappointed. Instead, it was Meng's mother who callously ruined someone's life and future. Xu Qin decided to cut ties with Meng's family and implored Meng's mother not to harm Song Yan anymore, even willing to die for him. Before leaving, Xu Qin angrily shattered the family photo, and Meng Yanchen witnessed everything, feeling conflicted.

Meng's mother wiped away her tears and stopped Meng Yanchen, who was about to leave. Meng Yanchen was also disappointed in his mother. Despite teaching themselves to be upright gentlemen, they ended up doing such things. For so many years, Meng Yanchen felt like he was barely surviving, but his mother never noticed. Meng's mother didn't regret her decisions for the sake of her children and the family. Ye Zi left in despair, crying for a long time before becoming resolute about something.

Ye Zi returned to the room where Meng Yanchen was asleep due to drinking. Meng's mother felt uneasy as she had never seen Meng Yanchen like this before. She called, and Ye Zi answered the phone, her voice trembling with sobs. Hearing this, Meng's parents became anxious. Ye Zi called her class leader for help, claiming that she was being bullied. Meng's parents quickly got a lawyer involved, and Ye Zi demanded five million yuan for silence, but Meng Yanchen stopped her, warning that she would end up in jail if she attempted extortion. Although falsely accused, Meng Yanchen was not afraid; he was just drunk, not foolish. Ye Zi threatened to call the police, but Meng Yanchen remained indifferent.

Meng's father received a call about Meng Yanchen being taken away by the police. He and Meng's mother hurriedly went to the scene and were surprised to learn that Meng Yanchen didn't deny the accusations. Xu Qin learned about Meng Yanchen's situation from Xiao Xiao and rushed to him with Song Yan. Xu Qin asked Attorney Guo to tell Meng Yanchen to come home and resolve the matter. Rumors were circulating on the internet, and Xiao Xiao was looking for evidence urgently. However, Meng Yanchen remained tight-lipped. In fact, the person seen near the private room was Zhai Miao, who was currently struggling with her conscience. After watching the surveillance footage, Song Yan recognized her and quickly returned home, hoping she could provide evidence as the situation was critical, and Meng Yanchen's future was at stake.
