Yan Nanxing rented the shop and opened a store called "Hua Xiang Rong. " The shop had areas for tea, grooming, and other services. On the opening day, it attracted many women and sold a variety of cosmetics. A spy discovered that Yan Nanxing had opened a grooming shop and felt something was off, so he reported it to Jiang Xinbai. Jiang Xinbai felt helpless but praised the spy for his work.

He then confidently stated that Yan Nanxing had no connection to Zornia herb and that there was no need to keep an eye on her. Yao Qianshu originally planned to host a dinner to reconcile with Yan Nanxing but was scolded by Jiang Xinbai. However, Yao Qianshu could see that Jiang Xinbai was only being stubborn. Madam Bao bought many items from Yan Nanxing’s shop, and Yan Nanxing's persuasive words helped sell even the expensive products.

Yan Nanxing racked her brain trying to figure out how Jiang Xinbai had guessed her intentions. She decided she needed to destroy the picture album quickly to avoid leaving any evidence. Late at night, Yan Nanxing went to Jiang Xinbai’s residence, remembering the address before tearing it up. As expected, there were no servants at Jiang Xinbai’s house, and Yan Nanxing speculated that he was hiding something. Jiang Xinbai noticed Yan Nanxing's presence and confronted her.

When he realized it was her, he let her go. Every day, there were long lines in front of Hua Xiang Rong. Yan Nanxing took the opportunity to learn from Madam Bao that there was tension between the Jinwu Guard and the General Capture Bureau. Yan Nanxing sent Jiang Xinbai a letter, asking to meet her at Twelve Music House that night.

Jiang Xinbai would surely know her intentions since the Twelve Music House was a frequent spot for the Jinwu Guard. Inside the Twelve Music House, Yan Nanxing disguised herself as a performer for the night. She accidentally saw a woman dressed in frontier tribe clothing, saying it was Shang Bieli's favorite performance. She peeked at Shang Bieli and heard him calling out Gaya's name, realizing he secretly liked Gaya! Yan Nanxing quickly changed clothes and went on stage as a performer.

Jiang Xinbai arrived and sat below the stage. Yan Nanxing, knowing he had a keen sense of smell, used the same fragrance as the other performers, but Jiang Xinbai still recognized her instantly. Yan Nanxing felt a bit defiant. Although he recognized her, it didn’t mean he wasn’t face-blind. Yan Nanxing was there to retrieve the picture album from Jiang Xinbai, who told her to come to the General Capture Bureau to get it the next day.

Yan Nanxing refused, not wanting him to visit her store. During their conversation, Jiang Xinbai detected the scent of Zornia herb on a passing performer and suspected someone might be hiding the herb in a second-floor private room. As Yan Nanxing made sarcastic comments, Jiang Xinbai went to the second floor, where it turned out Shang Bieli was indeed involved in something shady. Shang Bieli appeared before them, and the two glared at each other, ready to fight.

Yan Nanxing created chaos by releasing a chicken, disrupting the tense atmosphere. She flattered Shang Bieli while dragging Jiang Xinbai away. Jiang Suoluo pondered the relationship between Jiang Xinbai and Yan Nanxing in her carriage when Liu Ruoqian suddenly fell from the sky, holding a cat. It turned out he had fallen while rescuing the cat. Unable to compensate for the expensive carriage, he offered Jiang Suoluo a flower instead, saying its language meant good luck.

Jiang Suoluo thought for a moment before tossing the flower away. Liu Ruoqian, from a family of generations of slaves, was advised by his parents to abandon his dreams. But Liu Ruoqian firmly believed he could escape slavery through knowledge. Hua Xiang Rong issued a recruitment notice, sparking widespread discussion. Jiang Xinbai visited Yan Nanxing to return a favor, offering to help her find people. However, he knew nothing about the person she was searching for, a young man.

Liu Ruoqian applied for the job with the recruitment notice but was rejected by Yan Nanxing because he was unsuitable.
