Tong Saier saw Shang Bieli looking into a mirror but not daring to see his entire face. She rushed over to cheer him up and encouraged him to face himself. After Shang Bieli finally looked at his restored nose, Tong Saier made a new dish to celebrate, but Shang Bieli nearly choked on it.

Jiang Suoluo was happy to see that Shang Bieli's nose was healed, but she was upset to find out that Shang Bieli had become friends with Jiang Xinbai and Yan Nanxing. She felt excluded whenever Jiang Xinbai was around. Shang Bieli, however, advised her not to think that way, reminding her that Jiang Suoluo and Jiang Xinbai were family no matter what. Hua Xiangrong reopened, but people were too afraid to approach upon learning Yan Nanxing's identity.

That day, the former supervisor came to give a lecture, and the Hanlin Academy didn't let Liu Ruoqian attend. Still, thinking of himself as Jiang Suoluo’s person, he eagerly rushed to the academy. Mr. Cui was discussing social hierarchy, and Liu Ruoqian fearlessly questioned him, which made Jiang Suoluo very pleased. Seeing Jiang Suoluo defending Liu Ruoqian, Mr. Cui had no choice but to back down.

However, in private, Liu Ruoqian was severely beaten by Yan Biqing, and Jiang Suoluo, witnessing this, angrily demanded he hand over the ruler. Yan Biqing, too, had to lower his head in front of Jiang Suoluo. Liu Ruoqian was then permitted to audit Jiang Suoluo’s classes. To express his gratitude, he picked another bouquet of wildflowers for her.

Tong Saier prepared a lot of delicious food waiting for Shang Bieli to return, but he came home late, as he was discussing clues with Jiang Xinbai, Yan Nanxing, and Nan Jifeng. Shang Bieli discovered that Lu Boan was the handler for Li Wufang and was Lord Lu’s own grandson, as well as a student at the Hanlin Academy. However, Jiang Xinbai argued that this wasn’t conclusive evidence.

Shang Bieli, with his temper, couldn’t stand hearing such words and nearly quarreled with Jiang Xinbai again. With new clues in hand, Nan Jifeng decided to set off with Yao Qianshu to investigate, while Jiang Xinbai planned to seek out Jiang Suoluo for more information before deciding on the next steps. Before leaving, Jiang Xinbai asked Yan Nanxing to wait for his return as he had something to tell her. Tonight was the Yuejiang Prince's residence’s appreciation banquet.

Yan Biqing attended with his father, who suddenly blurted out the news of Yan Biqing and Jiang Suoluo’s private engagement. Yan Biqing took the opportunity to confess to Jiang Zhiyi, who nearly lost her balance but maintained her polite facade. When Jiang Xinbai returned, Jiang Zhiyi was interrogating Jiang Suoluo. It turned out that during her lonely time studying abroad in Miluo, Yan Biqing had shown her much care, leading Jiang Suoluo to act impulsively.

Jiang Zhiyi angrily berated her, saying Yan Biqing and his father were despicable and unworthy of marriage. Fortunately, Jiang Suoluo wasn’t sincere in her feelings for Yan Biqing. Jiang Zhiyi tearfully urged her to find someone who truly cared for her, assuring her that no one would force her to marry against her will. Jiang Xinbai waited outside, but Jiang Suoluo, emotionally drained, couldn’t hear a word he said.

Tonight was a full moon night, and Jiang Xinbai wanted Yan Nanxing to stay with him. She was due to transform, and he wanted to be by her side to keep her safe and not feel lonely or afraid. However, Yan Nanxing misunderstood his intention to sleep together. Jiang Xinbai clarified that she should sleep while he would sit beside her.

Yan Nanxing, somewhat speechless, made room on the bed for him, saying this was the proper way to sleep together. Early the next morning, Jiang Zhiyi, troubled by the children's affairs, learned that Yan Nanxing had stayed at Jiang Xinbai's house again, causing her to erupt in anger. Yan Nanxing woke up sweetly in Jiang Xinbai’s arms, finding herself unchanged. Jiang Xinbai was a bit surprised.

Yan Nanxing suggested that if she didn’t transform today, she might transform tomorrow, so she could just return in the evening. As she opened the door, Jiang Zhiyi stormed in, and Yan Nanxing quickly hid in the closet. Jiang Zhiyi burst in and opened the closet door, only to find a man dressed in women’s clothes inside. Jiang Xinbai found it hard to explain, and Jiang Zhiyi was utterly devastated.
