Yan Biqing came to congratulate Jiang Suoluo on Jiang Xinbai's dismissal; it seemed the position of Yuejiang Prince was now within Jiang Suoluo's grasp. Jiang Suoluo dismissed this notion, stating it was Yuejiang Mansion's internal matter and not his place to meddle. Yan Biqing persisted in bothering Jiang Suoluo, and just as he tightly hugged her, Jiang Xinbai punched him away. Concerned for Jiang Suoluo, Jiang Xinbai noticed the injury on her face.

He asked her to keep an eye on Lu Boan for him, as it concerned Bai Yuchen, her grandfather, and her mother, urging them to stay calm and not fall into another trap. As for Yan Biqing, if he dared to bully Jiang Suoluo again, Jiang Xinbai would handle him. Relations between Jiang Suoluo and Jiang Xinbai improved as Jiang Suoluo brought out the birthday gift Jiang Xinbai had long cherished.

Yan Qingyun, witnessing this, finally breathed a sigh of relief. Yan Qingyun suggested Jiang Suoluo go to the palace to seek help from the Empress, but Jiang Suoluo felt someone else might be more suitable. She found Lord Pei, who said there was nothing he could do. He added that if the Emperor decided to convict, Jiang Xinbai would likely be cut off from the Yuejiang Mansion, and the future of the mansion would rest on Jiang Suoluo's shoulders.

These recent events had deeply affected Jiang Xinbai, and Yan Nanxing wanted to help him regain his spirits. Remembering how Jiang Xinbai once got drunk and insisted on seeing fireworks, Yan Nanxing bought many fireworks. Besides the royal family, only Lord Xi had the privilege of setting off fireworks in the capital. Lord Lu specifically replaced Yan Nanxing's fireworks, intending to cause trouble.

Jiang Xinbai had been working hard at Hua Xiangrong these days, and Yan Nanxing deliberately wore the clothes he had given her, saying it was a gift for him. However, when Jiang Xinbai saw the fireworks, his brow furrowed; they couldn't set them off now. Setting off fireworks was a privilege granted by the Emperor to Lord Xi, and doing so now might anger the Emperor.

Yan Nanxing was disappointed, but quickly reassured Jiang Xinbai, recounting how she had been rescued by her "little brother" in the past, awakening memories in Jiang Xinbai. His emotions were complicated, tears threatening to fall, and he held Yan Nanxing tightly. Yan Nanxing was puzzled by his emotions but was distracted by the dazzling fireworks, which weren't set off by them. The Yuejiang Mansion was thrown into chaos by the fireworks, while Lord Lu and Lord Li gloated behind the scenes.

Shang Bieli quickly arrived to arrest Jiang Xinbai and Yan Nanxing. In prison, Lord Pei, Jiang Zhixi, and Jiang Suoluo visited Jiang Xinbai. The Emperor decided to exile Jiang Xinbai to Yanzhou, while Yan Nanxing was explaining to Shang Bieli that someone was clearly trying to frame him. Jiang Xinbai told his family the whole story, insisting someone was trying to frame him.

Yan Nanxing pleaded with Shang Bieli for a long time to see Jiang Xinbai, who said that the fireworks were meant to propose to him, hoping the Emperor would consider this testimony. Lord Pei decided to plead to the Emperor, but exile seemed unavoidable, just a matter of where. Jiang Xinbai hoped to marry Yan Nanxing in the capital before leaving, which Lord Pei agreed to.

After his release, Jiang Xinbai decided to sever ties with the Yuejiang Mansion; he couldn't burden his family. Jiang Suoluo wanted to tell Shang Bieli the truth about Jiang Xinbai missing their appointment, but Jiang Xinbai stopped him, sharing a risky plan instead. Shang Bieli grabbed Lu Boan, beat him, and then brought him before Lord Lu and Lord Li, purposely causing a quarrel between them.

Jiang Xinbai stated he was the "little brother" Yan Nanxing was looking for and that his feelings for Yan Nanxing were sincere. Shang Bieli was curious if Yan Nanxing knew about this, but Jiang Xinbai didn't say; he would tell her himself when everything settled down.
