Yan Biqing informed the Second Master about the news of his pursuit and urged him to expedite shipments to ensure Bai Yuan's safety. The Second Master believed him and promptly agreed to his request. However, the Second Master was soon arrested, and Yao Qianshu was astonished to find items from Huaxiangrong on him. Yan Nanxing also discovered that her ointment contained "Zornia herb.

" Before she could inform Jiang Xinbai, Bai Yuan, being pursued, slipped into the house, forcing Yan Nanxing to hide him. The pursuers noticed blood on the doorknob and immediately informed Jiang Xinbai. Bai Yuan insisted that his feelings for Yan Nanxing were genuine, but now she was implicated with "Zornia herb," and Jiang Xinbai wouldn't want her. Bai Yuan attempted to take Yan Nanxing away but was rejected, losing control and knocking her unconscious.

Jiang Xinbai arrived at Huaxiangrong with his men, knowing Bai Yuan was ruthless and must not be provoked. Alone, Jiang Xinbai entered the house, finding Yan Nanxing unconscious and Bai Yuan in a frenzy, the situation dire. Suddenly, someone arrived, claiming Yan Nanxing was the instigator of the "Zornia herb" case, accusing Jiang Xinbai of sheltering criminals and demanding their immediate execution.

Chaos erupted with arrows flying as they clashed with the Bureau of Arrest, and Bai Yuan was shot by stray arrows while trying to protect Yan Nanxing. Before dying, he placed a gift into Yan Nanxing's hands, urging her not to lose it and revealing the mastermind behind the "Zornia herb" case. Jiang Xinbai and Yan Nanxing fought their way out, facing pursuit from Master Yan. Shang Bieli arrived in time to stop them.

At the Yuejiang Prince's Mansion, Master Yan arrived under orders from the Emperor to arrest someone, but with the Prime Minister's intention, the mansion was temporarily sealed. Jiang Suoluo told Jiang Zhixi that Yan Nanxing had been poisoned with "Zornia herb" and couldn't possibly be the mastermind. Jiang Zhixi was shocked to learn she could transform, struggling to accept the revelation. Tong Saier and Liu Ruoqian were captured, but Shang Bieli intervened to ensure their safety temporarily.

Liu Ruoqian worried about Jiang Suoluo but was prepared to die if it meant implicating himself with the Yuejiang Prince's Mansion. Tong Saier worried about Jiang Xinbai and Yan Nanxing, trusting Shang Bieli to protect them, including Tong Saier herself. Shang Bieli interrogated the Second Master, who refused to disclose the truth, resorting to torture. Jiang Xinbai and Yan Nanxing were wanted and sought refuge at Yan Nanxing's home, comforting each other.

Back home, Yan Nanxing found Phantom Physician unconscious, her pulse irregular from self-experimentation with medicine. Yan Nanxing blamed herself for causing this by testing the medicine. Phantom Physician claimed to have discovered a new medicine but needed ingredients, refusing to let Yan Nanxing off the hook for obtaining them. Jiang Xinbai's condition worsened, losing his senses gradually, intending to return Yan Nanxing to the capital but now forced to stay longer.

Shang Bieli brought Jiang Suoluo to see Liu Ruoqian, impressed by how well she cared for his parents. Liu Ruoqian couldn't help but shed tears, having waited for Jiang Suoluo's visit. Shang Bieli and Tong Saier could only meet across the prison, Shang Bieli regretting his inability to rescue her while Tong Saier showed maturity, though her tears couldn't be stopped. Yan Nanxing cared for Phantom Physician as she once cared for her, trying to soothe her to sleep.

However, the next day, Yan Nanxing transformed again suddenly, her transformations becoming increasingly erratic. Distraught, Yan Nanxing desperately wanted to revert to her true self so Phantom Physician could recognize her, prompting Yan Nanxing to burst into tears. Jiang Xinbai discovered Yan Nanxing transformed again, leaving Yao Qianshu utterly astonished and confused. Yan Nanxing noticed Jiang Xinbai's deteriorating condition, though his pulse seemed unchanged.

The mastermind behind Yan Biqing and his son turned out to be Pei Xiang, planning to lure Jiang Xinbai back and apprehend him, even torturing the imperial physician for the secret of Jiang Xinbai's prosopagnosia.
