Yan Nanxing woke up again to find herself tied up, facing Pei Linfu and Miss Bai. She never expected that Pei Linfu, the mastermind behind the Zornia herb case, would betray the Yuejiang Prince's Mansion with Miss Bai! Miss Bai realized their medicine had no effect on Yan Nanxing and desperately wanted to know the transformation method. Pei Linfu instructed her to administer drugs and bleed Yan Nanxing, showing signs of madness.

Shang Bieli came to Jiang Xinbai with a note, informing him of Yao Qianshu's death. Jiang Xinbai sought revenge for Yao Qianshu but didn't want to involve Shang Bieli, who insisted on avenging his brother. Shang Bieli took Jiang Xinbai to meet the second-in-command of Bai Yuan's gang. The man claimed Jiang Xinbai wanted revenge for Bai Yuan's death. Jiang Xinbai clarified he didn't kill Bai Yuan; it was Yan Biqing and his son who did.

Before dying, Bai Yuan mentioned something in the Yan household. The second-in-command revealed they had Zornia herb, a precaution Bai Yuan took for himself. Jiang Xinbai pressed for other locations of Zornia herb, promising safety for Bai Yuan's people in return. Shang Bieli's men searched Yan Biqing's mansion and found Zornia herb. Yan Biqing and his son were arrested but remained unfazed, knowing they had Pei Linfu's protection.

Shang Bieli successfully rescued Tong Saier and Liu Ruoqian but learned Yan Nanxing had disappeared after confessing. The Emperor, addicted to Pei Linfu's incense, remained unconscious. The Empress attempted to see him but was rejected, only for the Emperor to awaken and order Pei Linfu to adjust his incense. From that day on, only Pei Linfu was allowed into court, with all affairs entrusted to him. Shocked, the Empress witnessed this scene.

Pei Linfu, knowing Yan Biqing and his son were arrested, suspected Jiang Xinbai might have returned. Shang Bieli took Jiang Suoluo and Yan Qingyun to meet Jiang Xinbai, informing him the Yuejiang Prince's Mansion was unsealed due to Yan Nanxing's confession. Shang Bieli brought bad news: Yan Nanxing was missing. Jiang Xinbai wanted to meet them as they might know Yan Nanxing's whereabouts. Pei Linfu secretly met Yan Biqing and his son, who were now useless to him.

He gave them poisoned wine, forcing them to kill each other. Yan Biqing, pushed to confess by his father, killed him ruthlessly, unable to escape Pei Linfu's grasp. Shang Bieli and Jiang Xinbai found them dead and decided to face the Emperor. Despite being a criminal, Jiang Xinbai was taken to the Emperor by Shang Bieli, but the Emperor, still unconscious, allowed Pei Linfu to arrest Jiang Xinbai using his token. Shang Bieli was stripped of his command.

Leaving, Shang Bieli met the Empress, who suspected Pei Linfu's incense was poisonous and agreed to cooperate with Shang Bieli to save the Emperor. Jiang Xinbai, now bound by Pei Linfu, finally realized he was the mastermind behind the Zornia herb case and responsible for his father's death. Pei Linfu held Yan Nanxing and the Yuejiang Prince's Mansion hostage, demanding Jiang Xinbai reveal Yan Nanxing's transformation method.

Jiang Xinbai demanded to see Yan Nanxing, but Pei Linfu threatened him with the lives of the Jiang family. The Jiang family, terrified by Pei Linfu's true nature, especially Jiang Zhixi, wanted to confront him immediately. Miss Bai approached Yan Nanxing, trading places with her to let Yan Nanxing leave with Jiang Suoluo. Miss Bai, realizing Pei Linfu couldn't save the Yuejiang Prince's Mansion, informed Jiang Zhixi of her mistake, needing to atone for her wrongdoing.

By exchanging Yan Nanxing, making Pei Linfu believe Yan Nanxing had transformed into herself, they could ensure their safety. The Emperor's poisoning could only be cured by Yan Nanxing. Yan Nanxing worried about Miss Bai's life but she insisted on his departure. Yan Qingyun and Shang Bieli decided to force their way into the palace to aid Jiang Xinbai.
