In the second semester of her sophomore year, Shen Xingruo transferred back to Xingcheng Mingli High School and stayed with her father's friend, Lu Shan. Living under the same roof with Lu Shan's son, Lu Xingyan, and attending the same class, they initially didn't get along but gradually developed feelings for each other over a year and a half.

With Lu Xingyan being their only option for the show, she knew she had to face him. It then dawned on her that these were the shoes she had left at his house, believing him when he said he would throw them away. Shen Xingruo continued to advocate for Lu Xingyan to be a guest on the show, but he felt heartbroken, realizing she only contacted him for work. Xu Chengzhou, Lu Xingyan's close friend, understood him well. Ever since Lu Xingyan reconnected with Shen Xingruo, something felt off. Lu Xingyan admitted he was happy she reached out, but it seemed she had no intention of rekindling their past relationship.

Seeing this, Li Qi had no choice but to back down and leave. However, he wasn't going to give up; he planned to wait for Shi Qin in Xingcheng. Shen Xingruo and Chen Zhu never understood why Shi Qin had initially gotten together with Li Qi.

Shi Qin felt seen by him, as she had always been the unnoticed one in the crowd. Li Qi discovered her, and she thought it would be hard to find someone as good as him again, leading her to marry him quickly. But after marriage, she realized Li Qi had a different side. Shen Xingruo worried about Shi Qin's ability to cope and reminded her to contact her immediately if Li Qi harassed her again, to which Shi Qin agreed.

While cleaning at home, Shi Qin found her high school study materials and reminisced about her time with He Siyue. They were both shy and liked each other but never expressed their feelings. A knock on the door brought her back to reality; it was Li Qi. Shi Qin was shocked he had found her, as she had forgotten to switch users while shopping online, exposing her current address.

She was too scared to open the door, and soon, Li Qi jumped in through the window, going wild. Taking advantage of the chaos, Shi Qin dialed Shen Xingruo, but before she could say anything, the phone was snatched away. Fortunately, Shen Xingruo sensed something was wrong and rushed home, with Lu Xingyan offering to drive her, joined by Xu Chengzhou and He Siyue. They arrived just in time; otherwise, they didn’t know how badly Shi Qin would have been hurt.

Shen Xingruo felt guilty for being late, but Shi Qin was already touched; it was the first time someone had come to her aid during such an incident. Initially, Lu Xingyan wanted to deal with Li Qi, but Shi Qin stopped him, and Li Qi managed to escape through the window. Shen Xingruo didn’t hold back at all. She told Jiao Jiao that setting up the site was the producer’s responsibility, and as an intern director, Jiao Jiao had no business interfering in production matters. Xu Chengzhou couldn’t believe that after all these years, he was hearing about this for the first time. During a break in filming, Xu Chengzhou pulled Lu Xingyan aside, scolding him for hiding such important information from his best friend all these years. On the second day of filming, according to the show's plan, each pair of guests was supposed to go on a date at a designated location. Shi Qin and He Siyue were especially shy, and their discomfort in front of the cameras was a bit of a headache for the directors. Lu Xingyan and Shen Xingruo’s situation was more challenging, as Jiao Jiao deliberately caused trouble for Shen Xingruo.

Unable to contact anyone, Shen Xingruo wandered around while Jiao Jiao was at the correct location, interviewing Lu Xingyan. Meanwhile, Xu Chengzhou and Chen Zhu were arguing, ignoring the directors' instructions. Shen Xingruo got lost in the forest and couldn’t find a way out even by nightfall.

Sensing something was wrong, Lu Xingyan asked to see the location Jiao Jiao had sent to Shen Xingruo, and realized that Jiao Jiao had provided the wrong address. He hurriedly went to search for her, leaving with a stern warning to Jiao Jiao, saying that if something happened to Shen Xingruo, she would pay for it. Fortunately, Lu Xingyan found Shen Xingruo, but he twisted his ankle in the process.

Shen Xingruo helped him, and after learning what had happened, she decisively returned to the set to confront Jiao Jiao. Jiao Jiao played the victim, acting pitiful, and Zhang Xu tried to defend her. Although everyone knew what had really happened, no one could say much since Jiao Jiao was the investor's daughter.

Shen Xingruo wasn’t having any of it though—she sarcastically called Jiao Jiao out in front of everyone, making it clear that she wasn’t someone to be easily bullied. However, Shen Xingruo magnanimously decided that as long as Jiao Jiao’s antics didn’t affect the show's progress, she wouldn’t bother with her.
