Go Back Lover Episode 14 Recap
> Go Back Lover Recap
He Siyue and Shi Qin took promotional photos together, but both were extremely shy, which led to less-than-ideal results. The director had no choice but to wait until they took a break and then capture some candid shots. Sure enough, when the two were in a more relaxed setting, they acted more naturally. Over time, they had grown closer, sharing a common worry—both had mild social anxiety when interacting with others.
Di Jiajing, always thoughtful, knew everyone was working hard, so she bought lots of drinks to share with the crew. However, after chatting with Yang Tianjiao, she learned that Tianjiao and Shen Xingruo didn’t get along very well. To smooth things over, Di Jiajing expressed how much she admired Tianjiao and even suggested they have a meal together sometime.
Yu Si, listening in from the side, found this strange and started to wonder about Di Jiajing’s true motives for being on the show. Lu Xingyan looked at the photos from the shoot and couldn’t help but smile contentedly, as if he’d rediscovered the feelings from his childhood. However, one of the crew members, Huang Bing, was hospitalized due to myocarditis triggered by overwork. Both Zhang Xu and Shen Xingruo were puzzled because the crew hadn’t worked overtime.
Shen Xingruo had already communicated with Huang Bing’s family and arranged compensation according to the contract’s terms. She decided to talk to the lifestyle producer to better understand the situation and asked He Ming to investigate Huang Bing’s financial situation. It turned out that his family wasn’t well off, so Shen Xingruo suggested that, in addition to the contractual compensation, the show should offer a separate goodwill payment.
Zhang Xu didn’t want Shen Xingruo to bear the burden alone and decided that the production team would cover the extra compensation, as there were always unforeseen costs in their budget planning. The situation escalated when Huang Bing refused the compensation from the production team and threatened to sue them, cutting off communication with Zhang Xu and the others. His demand was now clear: he wanted at least a year of rest and compensation equal to a year’s salary.
Shen Xingruo wasn’t particularly worried about the money but more about the damage a lawsuit would cause. Regardless of the outcome, the show would lose, and its future broadcast was now in jeopardy. To make matters worse, several staff members close to Huang Bing went on strike, believing the production team was exploiting them. Shen Xingruo decided to settle things privately and arranged to meet with a lawyer.
To her surprise, Shi Qin turned out to be representing Huang Bing’s side. Shen Xingruo’s legal representative was Di Jiajing, adding another layer of drama to the situation. The main focus of the negotiation was the compensation the production team owed Huang Bing. The production team proposed to follow the contract terms and additionally offered ¥20,000 for his recovery.
However, Huang Bing’s side demanded humanitarian compensation, which didn’t have a fixed amount and was based on the severity of the situation. Considering Huang Bing’s condition, they asked for ¥120,000. However, humanitarian compensation doesn’t hold legal validity. That evening, Chen Zhu invited Shen Xingruo and Shi Qin out for drinks, hoping the two wouldn’t let this issue cause any conflict. But Chen Zhu’s worries were unnecessary. There was no tension between Shi Qin and Shen Xingruo.
Shi Qin had only looked troubled because she found the situation strange. She had been assigned to the case by her supervisor, who claimed the demands came from the client. However, Shi Qin expressed that since Shen Xingruo was her friend, she wanted to avoid any conflict of interest and had asked not to participate. After being persuaded by her boss, she reluctantly agreed to take on the case.
Shi Qin later realized that the opposing side was likely hoping to stir up conflict between her and Shen Xingruo. However, she and Shen Xingruo refused to let them succeed. Shen Xingruo reassured her that they were merely looking at the same issue from different angles, and as long as they did their jobs properly, everything would be fine.
