A Shu and Yuchi Hua infiltrated the Red Lotus Society once again. A Shu spoke briefly with a woman named Xiao'e, who explained that the Red Lotus Grand Immortal had just distributed silver and that this time they would be healing the sick and saving lives. After the gathering began, the Red Lotus Grand Immortal signaled for those with illnesses to step forward for assistance.

An elderly man with a crooked neck staggered to the foot of the Red Lotus throne. As a cloud of smoke began to spread, the old man claimed to feel much better and even started walking faster. A Shu sniffed the air carefully and realized that the smoke was cinnabar, containing harmful sulfur. The Red Lotus Grand Immortal accused A Shu and Yuchi Hua of lacking sincerity and ordered the followers to capture them.

To create a distraction, Yuchi Hua suggested they split up and escape separately. Yuchi Hua easily scaled a wall and escaped, but A Shu, who didn't know light-footed skills, had already used up her last bit of medicinal powder. Just as she was about to be caught by the followers, Xiao'e threw a torch over the wall and then helped A Shu climb over it to escape.

Yuan Mo arrived to assist but was mistaken by Xiao'e for one of the followers and was knocked unconscious with a random object. A Shu looked closely and realized it was Yuan Mo. Back home, Yuan Mo scolded A Shu for acting on her own without discussing it with him.

Xiao'e decided to join the mission to destroy the Red Lotus Society, revealing that she had been brought into the society by her uncle's family and had long discovered that the Red Lotus Society was manipulating people's minds. Duke E Guo, having heard that Yuchi Hua was determined to deal with the refugees, decided to marry off his daughter first, to avoid her getting involved in daily conflicts. As for Wang Kunwu, he could continue to be considered.

Wang Kunwu arranged for several assistants from the West Wing to investigate the Red Lotus Society. An Xiuyi volunteered to join, sincerely wanting to help the refugees, but more importantly, to make up for his mistakes. He also presented an accurate map of the society's location. Wang Kunwu agreed to let An Xiuyi join but required everyone to dress as refugees. Before they set off, A Shu prepared some herbal medicine for Yuan Mo for bruises and external injuries.

Yuan Mo prayed for safety in front of the white snake A Shu was raising. A Shu used ventriloquism to pretend to scare Yuan Mo, who suddenly realized that the magic bottle could talk because of ventriloquism. This reminded A Shu of the time when Wang Kunwu was investigating the copper coins, noticing that Chen Xinliang's stomach was constantly moving, clearly indicating that he was a key figure.

Before the operation began, An Xiuyi and Lin Susu couldn’t find the address, but the others were already in position. The Red Lotus Grand Immortal selected some people through butterflies to go to the "desired land. " Yuan Mo was not chosen and could only follow the refugees out of the room. Yuchi Hua and A Shu blocked the road, ready to rescue the selected refugees, but they realized they had stopped the wrong carriage.

As they were about to return to check, Wang Kunwu quietly returned to the hall alone. The magic bottle began firing hidden arrows. Wang Kunwu simply cut off the dragon head on top of the magic bottle and was about to examine its internal structure when he was suddenly knocked unconscious by a strong black wind powder. Before completely passing out, he saw Xiao'e slowly emerging from the magic bottle, signaling to have Wang Kunwu detained separately.

Yuan Mo and several refugees were placed on a boat. Xiao'e reported to Chen Xinliang that Wang Kunwu had damaged the mechanism but had been subdued. Chen Xinliang rewarded her with a pill, which Xiao'e reluctantly swallowed, and was assigned to continue monitoring the hall. While An Xiuyi was fretting about not finding the address, he saw Chen Xinliang passing by on a boat, looking extremely secretive.

An Xiuyi and Lin Susu boarded another boat in the capital, but the oars were too short, making it impossible to row. A Shu and Yuchi Hua returned to the hall and found Xiao'e, whose behavior was suspicious. A Shu immediately noticed traces of black wind powder on Xiao'e, confirming that she was an accomplice of the Red Lotus Society, and took her back to Jingzhao Prefecture.

Xiao'e remained steadfast during Yuchi Hua’s interrogation, even threatening to disrupt the peace between Yanle and Dayong. Yuan Mo and some refugees were taken to a remote village, where the Red Lotus Society demanded they hand over their silver. Those who didn’t comply were severely beaten with sticks. Afterward, men and women were separated and imprisoned.

Yuan Mo was recognized as a government official, so he convinced the guards to prepare food for the refugees, hoping to sell them as slaves for a higher price. Kang Yunhai quickly arrived at Sifang Hall to demand the release of Yanle's citizens. Yuan Mo and Wang Kunwu were brought before Chen Xinliang, who had already uncovered their true identities.
