Wen Jingzhan and Tong Zifu were drinking on the rooftop. The breeze made him sober up a bit. In the second round, Wen Jingzhan won and asked Tong Zifu what he needed to do for her not to reveal his secret. Tong Zifu thought it was about the kidnapping of Master Zhao, but even if she kept it a secret, others would eventually find out. To find out who this "others" were, Wen Jingzhan continued playing. In the third round, Tong Zifu won and stood up to think about the next game. However, due to her unsteady balance, she almost fell off the roof, and Wen Jingzhan immediately caught her. Seeing the beautiful Tong Zifu, Wen Jingzhan affectionately called her "Zifu." The dizziness from the spinning and the alcohol made Tong Zifu vomit all over Wen Jingzhan.
Later that night, Tong Zifu had to wash Wen Jingzhan's clothes, which were worth thirty taels of silver. If she didn't wash them, she would have to compensate him. Tong Zifu reluctantly washed the clothes and asked him to take them off. Hearing this, some fellow disciples outside became curious. Wen Jingzhan threw the clothes directly onto Tong Zifu, and she stood up, questioning why he would press them onto her when he could have simply taken them off. This statement stunned the fellow disciples who were eavesdropping.
The next day, Mingyang discovered Wen Jingzhan and Tong Zifu on the same bed. They tried to explain themselves, but after a day of confusion, Wen Jingzhan sent Tong Zifu away. On their way, they overheard two fellow disciples plotting against them. Tong Zifu wanted to confront them, but Wen Jingzhan pulled her away. Hidden in a corner, she watched Wen Jingzhan, feeling close to him, and grabbed the corner of his clothes as they left together.
