Master Zhao was accused, as the painting was acquired from Madam Wen. Both Master Zhao and Madam Wen were surprised by this revelation. Wen Jingzhan knew that Tong Zifu was the one who painted it, and now Master Zhao was privately affixing his seal to it. The only solution was to retrieve the painting from the auction house and destroy it to eliminate evidence. Tong Zifu said the current auction price reached eight hundred taels, but she had only sold it for fifty taels initially, making it seem unworthy even if she had to sell herself. Wen Jingzhan suggested that they could get a reward of over a thousand taels for solving the case. Suddenly, they received an urgent letter about a case related to a name seal. They found Inspector Zhang and worked together to find the person responsible for the forged name seal.
