All the artists presented their own works for the painting examination. Tong Zifu mentioned that anyone could become an artist except for the two senior brothers who enjoyed eavesdropping. The dean informed everyone that those competing for technical painting would enter the examination room on the left, while those competing for academic painting would submit their self-prepared works to the examiners.
Wen Jingzhan submitted his work, while Tong Zifu painted her masterpiece on the other side. Wen Jingzhan's work received praise from the masters, and after much research, the two masters imitated his work. They advised Wen Jingzhan to observe carefully later. At a glance, Wen Jingzhan recognized the works imitated by the masters. He was publicly recognized as an academic painter.
At night, Wen Jingzhan returned to Tong Zifu's room, holding her hand with reluctance, urging her to rest early. As they parted, he kissed her forehead.
Wen Jingzhan returned to his room and immediately wrote a marriage proposal to Tong Zifu. Tong Zifu reminisced about their past with joy, making it hard for her to sleep that night. She fell asleep unconsciously. When she woke up again, she found herself back in the 21st century. She looked at her own home, walked to the computer, and saw her paintings. Remembering the past events with Wen Jingzhan, she yearned for him and shed tears. While satisfied with her work, she knew she would never see her beloved again.
