Xu Qi'an finally had a day off at home. To show his value, he personally cooked some delicious food for his family and even asked if there were any household chores he could help with. Meanwhile, Song Tingfeng and Zhu Guangxiao had an exciting task and quickly invited Xu Qi'an to join them. They were heading to confiscate the property of a household, and there was an opportunity to collect some valuable items along the way.

Hearing about the benefits, Xu Qi'an enthusiastically agreed to go with them. Upon arriving at the target house, another group deliberately caused trouble. Recognizing they were from Chunfeng Hall, someone slapped Zhu Guangxiao twice. Xu Qi'an immediately drew his sword, but Song Tingfeng quickly reminded him to endure for the sake of the bigger picture. Moments later, another officer, Zhu Chengzhu, a Silver Gong, arrived and kicked Zhu Guangxiao twice before also striking Xu Qi'an several times.

Xu Qi'an was furious but, seeing that Zhu Chengzhu was a superior officer, he had no choice but to endure the humiliation. When they finally began the confiscation process, Zhu Chengzhu seemed intent on making things difficult for Chunfeng Hall. While his men quietly pocketed gold and silver ingots, Song Tingfeng and his group were scolded for taking just two pearl necklaces. They were then ordered to stay put and clean up the trash after the others finished.

As Song Tingfeng tried to calm Xu Qi'an down, cries and pleas for help from a woman came from the hall, clearly indicating someone was committing an atrocity against her. Unable to tolerate it any longer, Xu Qi'an ignored warnings from those around him and rushed into the room. He dragged the beastly man off the bed. Enraged and humiliated, Zhu Chengzhu reminded Xu Qi'an of his subordinate status.

Instead of stopping, Zhu Chengzhu dragged the woman into the courtyard, stepped on her head, and tauntingly looked at Xu Qi'an. Seeing that Zhu Chengzhu continued to exert force on the woman, whose face was already covered in blood, Xu Qi'an could no longer suppress his fury. He drew his blade, took a deep breath, silently recited the martial arts techniques from his books, and struck with a single slash.

The blow sent Zhu Chengzhu flying over ten meters, splitting his silver badge in two. Zhu Chengzhu collapsed to the ground, coughing up blood and barely conscious. The surrounding crowd was stunned and quickly surrounded Xu Qi'an. Even Xu Qi'an himself hadn’t expected his strike to be so powerful. Realizing the severity of the situation, Zhu Guangxiao urged Xu Qi'an to flee as far as possible. However, Xu Qi'an refused, saying, "If I run, what will happen to you all?

What about my family? "Zhu Chengzhu's arrogance stemmed from his father, a Golden Gong, who had attained his rank at a young age with powerful backing. When Zhu Chengzhu's father saw his son covered in blood and brought back unconscious, he was enraged and immediately set out to kill Xu Qi'an. Fortunately, Song Tingfeng raced ahead and informed Li Yuchun, who in turn sought help from Yang Yan.

Just as Zhu Chengzhu's father was about to kill Xu Qi'an on the road, Yang Yan arrived and reminded him that it was improper to use private punishment. Yang Yan took Xu Qi'an to see Wei Yuan, leaving the decision to him. Li Yuchun gathered witnesses from the scene to provide evidence in Xu Qi'an’s defense. Despite this, Zhu Chengzhu's father remained aggressive. Wei Yuan, though understanding the situation, was in a difficult position.

In the end, Wei Yuan ruled that Zhu Chengzhu should be dismissed for his lawless behavior, while Xu Qi'an was sentenced to be executed for insubordination. Hearing Wei Yuan’s judgment, Xu Qi'an's eyes reddened. He had endured severe injuries and humiliation at Zhu Chengzhu’s hands, but when the man allowed his subordinates to harm an innocent woman, Xu Qi'an felt compelled to act. Now, the teacher he had always respected had sentenced him to death.

Unable to understand, Xu Qi'an asked Wei Yuan if he still remembered his original commitment to justice and serving the people. Wei Yuan turned his back and gave no reply. Xu Qi'an was taken to prison, leaving his colleagues deeply saddened. Many of them pleaded with Wei Yuan on his behalf.

Not only did Chunfeng Hall rally behind Xu Qi'an, but even his normally disdainful aunt humbly sought out Madam Wang Xiuhua, the wife of a minister, to plead on Xu Qi'an’s behalf. To do so, she even offered her most valuable jade bracelet as a gift. As the execution date drew closer, all the Golden Gongs, except those with the surname Zhu, gathered at Wei Yuan’s residence, hoping he might reconsider.

Li Yuchun, unable to watch his subordinate suffer such injustice, donned mourning clothes, carried his work uniform, and stood outside Wei Yuan's office, shouting his name and begging him to uphold justice and save Xu Qi'an.
