During the time after the marriage, Ning's mother often came home late or was busy thinking about surgical plans for her patients, leaving Ning's father feeling increasingly lonely and neglected with no one to talk to. He understood that his wife was an excellent doctor who had dedicated her heart to her patients, but it seemed like she had no space for herself.

Later on, Ning's mother suggested remarrying, but it was only because she missed their past love and wanted to give their son a complete family. However, Ning's father politely declined, knowing that even if they remarried, they would eventually end up divorced again. He decided to find someone else who was more compatible instead, so he started a relationship with Liu Auntie. After hearing this, Ning finally understood what his father meant.
