Liuzheng slowed down as she left, hoping that Ning Zhiqian would stop her from leaving. However, all she got was a "take care" from him, and it left her feeling uneasy.

One day, Ning's father stumbled upon Aunt Liu's CT scan results while cleaning up at home. The results showed that Aunt Liu had a tumor in her brain, and he became worried. He wanted to call Ning Zhiqian to share his concerns, but Aunt Liu stopped him. She did not want to undergo surgery and wanted to live the rest of her life in peace. However, Ning's father did not agree and decided to seek out Ning Zhiqian for help.

Days later, Ning's father went to his son's house and prepared a sumptuous meal. When Ning Zhiqian arrived home, he invited him to eat. At the table, Ning's father hesitated but eventually showed him Aunt Liu's CT scan. Ning Zhiqian's expression turned serious, and he asked whose scan it was. Ning's father had to tell him the truth, hoping that his son would agree to help. However, Ning Zhiqian refused, leaving his father confused.

But Ning's father did not give up. He took the scan to Liuzheng, hoping that she could help. She saw the results and realized that the surgery would be difficult and that only Ning Zhiqian could do it. She went to Ning and asked him to reconsider, but he refused to help.

The next day, Liuzheng took Aunt Liu for a check-up and found out that the surgery was very complicated and only Ning Zhiqian could perform it.

After the surgery, Liuzheng praised Ning Zhiqian and asked about Aunt Liu's treatment. However, Ning Zhiqian told her that he would not perform any more surgeries, leaving Liuzheng feeling helpless.

Over the next few days, Ning's father did not go to Ning Zhiqian's house, and Ning began to suspect that something was wrong with Aunt Liu. Ning Zhiqian got angry and told him to mind his own business and not to suspect others. However, he began to question whether he had made the right decision.

Xiao Er found out about Aunt Liu's illness and went to Ning Zhiqian to ask him to perform the surgery. Aunt Liu had already decided not to undergo the surgery and just wanted to live the rest of her life in peace. Liuzheng was upset after hearing this and decided to continue persuading Ning Zhiqian to perform the surgery.

Ning Zhiqian hesitated because of his own family history and experiences.

After persistent persuasion from Liuzheng, Ningzhiqian finally revealed his hesitation. When his parents divorced, young Ningzhiqian begged his father to stay, but all he got was a decisive departure. His mother also had a hard time, as she still had feelings for Ning's father but didn't know how to express them, which led to the current situation. That's why Ningzhiqian couldn't accept Aunt Liu, let alone perform surgery on her.

Seeing this, Liuzheng stopped talking and took out a CD of Ning's mother's speech, hoping Ningzhiqian would reconsider. After watching the CD, Ningzhiqian seemed to realize what his duty as a doctor was.
