Han Su arrived in Hong Kong and reported to Lawyer Hu, speaking in her less-than-fluent Cantonese. Lawyer Hu asked her where she had learned Cantonese, and Han Su said she learned it by watching TV shows and listening to music. Lawyer Hu then told her that she also spoke Mandarin, making Han Su awkwardly admit that her Cantonese wasn't very good.

Lawyer Hu reassured her, saying it was fine and that she too struggled when she first learned Mandarin, but with more practice, it would improve. Lawyer Hu explained that she had originally planned to have Han Su familiarize herself with the work alongside a colleague, but the colleague had gone on a business trip to Shanghai.

She then told Han Su that she would have to take over a case right away, to which Han Su confidently replied that she could handle it. Han Su reported to her colleagues, who showed her to her workstation, and she greeted everyone. Meanwhile, the cleaning lady who had been reported by Qu Yipeng lost her job. Qu Yipeng saw her carrying her belongings as she prepared to leave. Feeling guilty, he gave her some of his old clothes.

The cleaning lady, unaware that it was Qu Yipeng who had reported her, complained that she didn’t know who the scoundrel was that had cost her the job. Qu Yipeng said nothing and simply told her to accept the clothes. The landlord then brought prospective tenants to view Qu Yipeng’s apartment. The landlord remarked, “It’s just a breakup, why return the apartment? Are you afraid of being reminded of her? ” Qu Yipeng remained silent.

Just as he was about to see the landlord and the tenants out, he spotted He Zhinan. He Zhinan was on her way out to throw away the trash, which startled Qu Yipeng, and he quickly shut the door. The landlord thought his behavior was odd, and Qu Yipeng texted him, claiming he suddenly needed to use the restroom. Peeking through the door's peephole, he watched as He Zhinan finished throwing out the trash and headed back home.

She caught a whiff of a foul smell as she walked past his door, and as she got closer, the smell intensified. It turned out to be the stench of pickled bamboo shoots that Qu Yipeng had left in the hallway. Wrinkling her nose in disgust, He Zhinan hurried back into her apartment, leaving Qu Yipeng feeling even more insecure. Later, after working overtime, Han Su was about to leave the office when she realized the main door was locked.

She called out, asking if anyone was around. Hearing her, Uncle Zhong, the security guard, came out and told her that the door automatically locks at midnight, suggesting that she use the side entrance. Han Su then asked Uncle Zhong if there were any good places nearby to grab a late-night snack, and Uncle Zhong gave her a few recommendations.

Meanwhile, He Zhinan and Qu Yipeng went on another date, and as he walked her home, he wrapped his arm around her waist and mentioned that he was planning to move. Surprised, He Zhinan asked where he was moving to. Qu Yipeng told her he was planning to move to the neighborhood next to hers so that he could come over and cook for her.

Shocked, He Zhinan asked if he really knew how to cook, to which Qu Yipeng replied that he had many skills she didn’t know about yet. He Zhinan then invited him to her place to try the milk tea she had recently learned to make, and as soon as they got home, they couldn’t resist kissing each other. In a hurry, He Zhinan rushed to the bedside and turned over a photo of her and Gao Peng.

After their passionate moment, Qu Yipeng made instant noodles for He Zhinan. While they ate, Qu Yipeng opened up about being a kid from the countryside, trying to gain her sympathy by playing the “pity card” because he was afraid she would look down on him if she noticed the smell on him. He Zhinan assured him that she had never thought less of him and that she actually found him impressive.

Touched by her words, Qu Yipeng told her that meeting her was the luckiest thing that ever happened to him. He Zhinan agreed, saying she felt the same way. The next day, He Zhinan happily went to work. While at work, she received a video call from Sun Hanhan. Sun Hanhan told her that she and Zhou Bin had gone to Sanya for a trip.

She mentioned that she had casually said she wanted to see the ocean, and Zhou Bin arranged everything. She didn’t even pack anything—all her things were bought there. After chatting for a bit, He Zhinan told her that she had to get back to work. After work, He Zhinan was in her neighborhood feeding the cats when she heard a parrot behind her calling out “Baby. ” She turned around and saw Gao Peng.

He told her that he had run away from home and asked if they could avoid breaking up. He Zhinan said no, but Gao Peng refused to leave her house. Meanwhile, Qu Yipeng texted He Zhinan, asking what she wanted to eat that night. She replied that she had gone back to her parents’ house. However, when Qu Yipeng got home, he heard a man singing in He Zhinan’s apartment. He texted her, asking if she had come back home, but she continued to insist that she hadn’t.
