Li Nianhuan suffered from postpartum depression. Before leaving, Yu Jiaen instructed Li Nianhuan's mother to inform her of anything important. Xu Yao learned that Su Yi had replaced project manager Yu Jiaen, and he felt the need to defend Yu Jiaen. He intended to talk to Su Yi, but was stopped by Hao Chenshi. Hao Chenshi told Xu Yao that Su Yi's decision was sound, as she was considering the company's progress. Changing the project manager was not to Yu Jiaen's detriment. If he interfered, it would only cause trouble for her. Xu Yao recalled Yu Jiaen's words; they were now in a professional relationship, and he should not disrupt the established boundaries out of guilt. Doing so would only invite criticism, so Xu Yao abandoned the idea of intervening for Yu Jiaen.

Upon returning to Beijing, Yu Jiaen discovered that her project had been given to someone else, a workplace rule she couldn't change. She realized that she could be sad but couldn't let it hinder her progress; otherwise, she would be replaced. Having lost a project, she decided to familiarize herself with other projects at the company while working overtime. This caught the attention of Lu Zijie, who, as a senior and boss, gave Yu Jiaen some advice and assigned her a new project he was personally overseeing. As it got late, Lu Zijie offered to drive Yu Jiaen home. Remembering their previous encounter, Yu Jiaen declined, but Lu Zijie informed her that he had divorced, so there was no reason to worry about gossip.

Li Nianhuan's and Xu Wensong's mothers met to discuss their children's divorce. Knowing that Li Nianhuan's mother was an intellectual, Yu Jiaen was concerned she might be at a disadvantage, so she had her mother come to support her. As expected, when two troublemakers clash, Wang Mama and Xu Wensong's mother had a heated argument, with Wang Mama prevailing and driving Xu Wensong's mother away. Li Nianhuan's mother was grateful to Wang Mama and hoped they could keep in touch since their children were doing well. They might have a chance to reconcile in the future. Lin Li deliberately had Yu Jiaen bring water into a meeting between herself, Xu Yao, and others, even making her assist her openly. She was actually trying to please Su Yi. Since learning about Yu Jiaen and Xu Yao's relationship, Su Yi had become increasingly hostile and sometimes made things difficult for Yu Jiaen. While serving coffee to Su Yi, Yu Jiaen accidentally spilled it. Lin Li began to criticize Yu Jiaen in front of everyone. Yu Jiaen approached Zhao Ang and informed him of Li Nianhuan's miscarriage. Regardless of their own relationship, Yu Jiaen hoped Zhao Ang could help Li Nianhuan in this difficult time. Li Nianhuan received a message from Zhao Ang, who tried to persuade her in his own way to overcome her troubles. Meanwhile, Xiao Li visited Li Nianhuan's home, intentionally recorded their conversation, and pretended to help Li Nianhuan secure more money.
