Yu Lihua explained the key points of modern ballet to the students, then personally demonstrated the moves. She gave everyone twenty minutes of free practice time. In the evening, Ling Chen saw that Shi Xiaochun was still practicing alone and felt concerned. Yu Manman happened to come by and asked if Shi Xiaochun and Ling Chen were now together. Their impromptu dance was seen by Teacher Lin, who suddenly found inspiration for a new play. Teacher Lin shared his idea with the school principal. During class, Teacher Lin informed the students that they had the freedom to practice and discover what kind of dance they wanted to perform. Shi Xiaochun and Ling Chen were prepared to rehearse seriously. Shi Xiaochun was about to leave in her dance attire when she was surprised to see Hong Jiaoyang, who had dressed up nicely. She wanted to look good as well since she was going to meet her boyfriend. When Ling Chen arrived and saw Shi Xiaochun with makeup, he found her exceptionally beautiful. They felt a bit awkward when they first met. Later, Ling Chen brought Shi Xiaochun to his home. He closed the curtains and turned off the lights. Shi Xiaochun felt a bit embarrassed, thinking something might happen between them. However, Ling Chen only wanted to close the curtains so they could study dance together. The scene was quite nice, with Ling Chen wanting to choose a dance that represented freedom and breaking free from constraints.
When Yu Lihua returned home, she saw the two watching videos together. She wondered if her son had gone to practice, but Ling Chen responded to her in a very cold manner and said he was going to the rehearsal room. Afterward, Ling Chen and Shi Xiaochun practiced their dance. Their contemporary ballet seemed less like a dance and more like an expression of emotions. They were in sync, and Teacher Lin happened to see them dancing. He was impressed and encouraged them to continue working hard. Ling Chen felt like he had unlocked something deep within him, allowing him to express a lot of feelings.
Later, Ling Chen approached the head teacher and expressed his desire to withdraw from the ballet competition. Unfortunately, his mother overheard their conversation, leading to a disagreement. His mother believed that this was a rare opportunity and that it would be difficult for anyone else to secure it, but it was slipping away from Ling Chen. Ling Chen felt that he had been living life according to his mother's wishes for too long and now wanted to pursue his own path. They had a heated argument and parted ways.
That night, Ling Chen was chatting with Shi Xiaochun. Just as they were about to sleep, Shi Xiaochun received a call from Yu Lihua. He asked Shi Xiaochun to meet him outside and suggested that they should distance themselves from each other. He believed that Shi Xiaochun was holding back Ling Chen's development. This time, Shi Xiaochun didn't compromise but stated that she would follow Ling Chen's decision. As long as he needed her, she would not leave. After saying this, Shi Xiaochun ran away.
