Upon hearing about Zhong Ling's ordeal, Han Donglai rushed to the hospital, blaming himself for not being able to protect her. Chu Mo also reproached Han Donglai, stating that he shouldn't have appeared by Zhong Ling's side after six years. Han Donglai retaliated by saying that even as a big star, Chu Mo couldn't provide Zhong Ling with a peaceful life. Feeling dejected, Chu Mo remarked that perhaps neither of them deserved her.
Han Donglai stayed by Zhong Ling's side, reminiscing about their past together. He kissed her but stopped himself when she called out his name, not wanting to disturb her further. Quietly, he left the room.
Meanwhile, Lin Xiaxi drowned her sorrows in a bar, and the mysterious man approached her to ask for money to flee abroad, but she refused. They had a falling out, and the mysterious man threatened Lin Xiaxi before leaving. However, Lin Xiaxi was too preoccupied with her excitement about Zhong Ling's impending trouble and didn't care much about the encounter.
In her dazed state, Zhong Ling seemed to sense that Han Donglai had come and kissed her, but when she woke up, she realized that only Chu Mo was by her side.
