Han Donglai brought Zhong Ling home, and they questioned Lin Xiaxi, revealing everything from six years ago, including Lin Xiaxi's role in orchestrating the director's assault. They presented the recording and photos of the red-haired man, stating that he had already turned himself in, and Lin Xiaxi should stop doing evil deeds. Han Donglai's mother tried to persuade him to show mercy considering the long-standing friendship between the two families.
As Lin Xiaxi saw all her lies exposed and realized that everything was driven by her love for Han Donglai, and since he was so resolute in rejecting her, she became furious. In her madness, she blamed Zhong Ling and even attempted to harm her with a fruit knife. Han Donglai once again protected Zhong Ling and was injured by Lin Xiaxi's attack, landing him in the hospital.
After Han Donglai was out of danger, Mu Chen accompanied Han Donglai's mother back home. Seeing Zhong Ling taking care of Han Donglai with great dedication, Han Donglai's mother was deeply moved.
