Since Mei Lin changed her name to Hua Niangzi, she stayed at the Yan Lai Xiang Pavilion, always wearing a veil and never revealing her true face. A Yi and A Ga felt that Mei Lin had changed, but they were happy to see her smile. On the other hand, Murong Jinghe often stood nearby, quietly watching Mei Lin, his feelings of longing unexpressed.

He understood the pain she carried in her heart; that silent protection became the only thing he could do for her. The King of Xiyan arranged for Yue Qin to have his bones reconnected, stating that Xiyan would never accept a Prince with a damaged body. If Yue Qin could endure, he would not hold it against him. Meanwhile, Zi Gu woke from a dream, troubled about her brother.

Suddenly, she felt unbearable abdominal pain and started bleeding heavily, which alarmed the Emperor, who quickly summoned the royal physicians. Unfortunately, after suffering a miscarriage and experiencing significant blood loss, Zi Gu ultimately could not be saved. In her final moments, she tightly grasped the Emperor’s hand, expressing that her pact with the celestial beings, trading twenty years of her life, had come to pass.

She hoped that in her next life, she would not be a princess of marriage alliances. The Emperor promised that in the next life, he would go to Xiyan to find Zi Gu and would never let her suffer again. Murong Jinghe discreetly looked after Mei Lin's business, instructing the head of Chang Le Fang to order sachets while reminding her to keep it confidential. Qing Yan, following Murong Jinghe, watched Mei Lin busily at work and thought that as Hua Niangzi, she could finally escape the constraints of being a Prince’s Consort. However, Murong Jinghe felt he had entrusted her to the wrong person, nearly trapping Mei Lin in the palace of the King of Xiyan forever.

With the help of her sisters, Mei Lin finally opened a spring flower pastry shop. However, during the opening celebration, with firecrackers going off, Murong Jinghe had no choice but to reveal himself to protect Mei Lin. Qing Yan sensed something unusual about the firecrackers and confirmed they contained tung oil. Murong Jinghe ordered Qing Yan to investigate all the fireworks shops in the city. Understanding the gravity of the situation, he secretly worried about Mei Lin’s safety, often lingering near the spring flower pastry shop.

Seeing this, Wei Laoer decided to help and used his hard-earned money to buy six trays of fruit cakes, claiming they were ordered by the patrol camp, insisting that Mei Lin deliver them personally. While investigating the vehicles transporting fireworks outside the city, Murong Jinghe suddenly heard urgent hoofbeats. Yin Luomei appeared, subduing the trafficker. As they checked the information, they discovered that Ming Ju had sent a large number of spies to infiltrate the patrol camp and create chaos.

Mei Lin brought the fruit cakes to the patrol camp to inquire with the military women and nearly fell victim to an assassination. Fortunately, Murong Jinghe arrived just in time to protect her, suffering an injury to his left shoulder. Mei Lin warned Yin Luomei to be cautious of the straw pile, and indeed, Yin Luomei found explosives hidden within it.

Then, Mei Lin stepped outside the tent and learned that Murong Jinghe had injured his inner strength while testing medicine for her, and he had even begged the Crown Prince for the Snow Dragon Vine. Murong Jinghe woke and informed Qing Yan that Mei Lin had lost her martial abilities and that they must uncover the truth. He decided to send people to secretly protect Mei Lin’s safety. Meanwhile, Yue Qin had regained consciousness but was feeling gloomy.

Although his hand had been reattached, he could not use it for the time being. The Emperor sent word to inform him of the passing of the imperial consort. To maintain peace between their two nations, Yue Qin suppressed his grief and burned the letter, sitting at the table to carve a small wooden horse for Zi Gu.
