However, if her nephew were chosen, there had never been a precedent where a nephew would honor his aunt and uncle in the temple. A month ago, Yuan Shaocheng knew from the bell that Ye Ping'an had returned.

When the Clerk of the City Office awoke, he found that Huang Qi and the ledger were both missing. Panicked, he rushed to report the situation. King Kangping quickly learned that Li Jun had gone to search for evidence and that Huang Qi and the ledger were missing. He remained calm on the surface but secretly arranged for people to find Minister Zhang and have the ledger destroyed.
