Nan Yaner was sound asleep when a black-clad assassin suddenly lunged towards her. Fortunately, Nan Yaner was alert and immediately fought back. The assassin's strike missed, and then they noticed Su Xianling had already caught up. The assassin swiftly leaped out of the window to escape. Nan Yaner thought that Su Xianling and the assassin were working together. She held her sword at Su Xianling, who explained that she had come to help after receiving a request for assistance. Dongfang Yi also arrived and vouched for Su Xianling, while also stating that he would stand in the way and ensure nothing happened to Nan Yaner.
After Eunuch Gao's attempt to assassinate Nan Yaner failed, it enraged the Empress Dowager. Fortunately, he gained some information and unexpectedly discovered Su Xianling's identity. This partially quelled the Empress Dowager's anger. Through Su Xianling's jade pendant, the Empress Dowager learned that she was the daughter of Liu Rumai. The Empress Dowager then orchestrated a scenario, deliberately having someone wet Su Xianling's clothes. Seizing the opportunity of Su Xianling changing clothes, she observed the tattoo on Su Xianling's back, confirming her identity.
Both the Empress Dowager and Su Xianling were members of the Fengming Tribe. The Empress Dowager led Su Xianling into a secret chamber and revealed to her that their fellow tribe members were slain by Dongfang Yi Tian, the father of Dongfang Jing. She urged Su Xianling not to forget this hatred and to seek vengeance for their tribe. Upon hearing from Qin Yu that the key was within the mansion, Dongfang Jing infiltrated the Empress Dowager's room and entered the secret chamber. When he saw the row of arrows displayed before the Fengming Tribe's memorial tablets, he recognized the arrow that had pierced his father, Dongfang Yi Tian's chest that fateful day. Memories of his father's last wishes flooded his mind.
