Kris Wu Yifan was Sentenced to 13 Years For Rape Crime

On the morning of 25 November 2022, the Beijing Chaoyang District People’s Court publicly announced the verdict of the defendant Kris Wu Yifan’s rape and group licentiousness case in the first instance, sentencing the defendant Wu Yifan to eleven years and six months of imprisonment with additional deportation for the crime of rape, and one year and ten months of imprisonment for the crime of group licentiousness, and deciding to execute the sentence of thirteen years of imprisonment with additional deportation.

It was found that between November and December 2020, the defendant Kris Wu Yifan forcibly had sexual intercourse with three women at his residence while they were drunk and did not know how to resist or were unable to resist.

On July 1, 2018, at his residence, Kris Wu Yifan, together with others, organized two other females to engage in promiscuous activities while intoxicated.

The Chaoyang District People’s Court held that Kris Wu Yifan’s actions constituted the crimes of rape and group licentiousness, and should be punished together in accordance with the law. The court handed down the verdict based on the facts of Kris Wu Yifan’s crime, the nature of the crime, the circumstances, and the harmful consequences.

Officials from the Canadian Embassy in China were present at the sentencing.

On the same day, the Beijing Municipal Taxation Bureau released news:

Previously, the Second Inspection Bureau of the Beijing Municipal Taxation Bureau conducted a tax inspection on Canadian artist WU YI FAN (吴亦凡) for suspected tax evasion between 2019 and 2020, based on clues from relevant parties and taxation big data analysis, in accordance with the law.

As Kris Wu (WU YI FAN)’s a large amount of business information and financial transactions involving a number of domestic and foreign affiliated enterprises, the case was relatively complex, and the Beijing tax authorities, in conjunction with the relevant tax authorities, conducted a careful and detailed investigation, and the case has now been clarified.

Then Kris Wu Yifan was recovered taxes, added late payment fees, and fined. The total amount is RMB 600 million.
