On Qingnan Mountain, Han Ye made a solemn vow that if he were to rule Da Jing, he would ensure prosperity and peace for all the people. After the ceremony for the Di family soldiers was over, night had fallen. Wen Shuo, Yuan Qin, and others sat on the hillside, gazing at the starry sky, believing that the souls of the Di family soldiers would forever guard this land.

Wen Shuo could sense that Ren Anle seemed more distant and indifferent than before. He wished she and Han Ye could return to the way they were, but it seemed unlikely. Yuan Qin, as an observer, saw through the situation clearly. Ren Anle used to be like this before returning to the capital, but she became lively and cheerful only after meeting Han Ye.

From Yuan Qin's perspective, Han Ye was not particularly gentle and accommodating. He was the Crown Prince of Da Jing, born noble and dignified. In the past year, he had been considerate towards Ren Anle because she held a special place in his heart. However, it was their different identities and positions that prevented them from being together. Even if they were to go back ten years and face it all again, they would still be powerless.

The black-clad men left behind a token that belonged exclusively to the Plum Blossom Guards, a covert force secretly trained by the emperor.

Ren Anle was angry at the sight, but Han Ye emphasized that it was not the emperor's doing. If he really wanted to kill Ren Anle, he could have executed her under the pretext of deceiving the emperor. Luo Mingxi agreed with Han Ye's view. The martial arts of the black-clad men resembled those of the assassins at the palace banquet, which made them suspect that the Northern Qin had planted a force in the capital, with Gu Yunnian being used as their pawn.

Now that the 80,000 spirits had returned to their homeland, Han Ye asked Ren Anle about her plans. She expressed her intention to resign and return to Jingnan. Han Ye tried to persuade her to stay and help create a prosperous era for Da Jing, but she refused. Han Zhongyuan issued an order to reward Ren Anle and had Zhao Gonggong investigate whether she had truly let go of her grievances. Ren Anle said she had never completely let go, but at most, she no longer held any hatred and hoped that similar tragedies would not happen again.

However, Da Jing was no longer the same under the control of the Han family. It was plagued by corruption, and the people suffered. Luo Mingxi questioned whether Ren Anle truly trusted the Han family to govern the country and hand over the realm that rightfully belonged to the Di family. Ren Anle believed that Han Ye would create a peaceful era, but she no longer had any connection to the Han family and hoped that Luo Mingxi would accompany her back to Jingnan.

But Luo Mingxi had found out that the mastermind behind the assassination attempt was none other than Prime Minister Jiang Yu. His intention was not to target the court but to manipulate and utilize the remnants of the Di family. To prevent the Di family army from falling into the wrong hands, Luo Mingxi decided to immediately gather the remnants and reorganize the Di family army, which he would return to Ren Anle to help her deal with the troubles ahead.

While discussing this matter, a subordinate rushed to report that Han Ye was about to kill Prime Minister Jiang Yu in the street. Luo Mingxi was shocked and hurried over. At the same time, Han Ye confronted Jiang Yu with his sword, but Jiang Yu showed no fear. He boldly declared that he would reveal the truth in public and make the Di family perish with him. Hearing these words, Han Ye was completely angered. He swung his sword, and Jiang Yu was beheaded instantly. By the time Luo Mingxi arrived, it was too late.

Originally, Ren Anle was preparing to leave the capital by carriage but suddenly received news of Han Ye killing Prime Minister Jiang Yu and rushed to the Ministry of Justice along with An Ning to find out more. Luo Mingxi questioned Han Ye about the reason for the killing. Han Ye remembered Jiang Yu using Wen Shuo's life as a threat, but considering that Wen Shuo was Emperor Jin in the past, he chose not to reveal this to Luo Mingxi. Although Ren Anle didn't choose to visit Jiang Yu in prison, Luo Mingxi knew that she couldn't let go of Han Ye in her heart and wouldn't be able to return to Jingnan with peace of mind.
