Princess An Ning personally visited Han Ye in the dungeon and urgently asked him why he killed Jiang Yu. However, Han Ye evaded the question and advised An Ning not to get involved in the dangerous situation. He explained that being born into the royal family comes with many constraints, and not everything can be achieved with one's best efforts. Knowing Han Ye's stubborn nature, An Ning stopped pressing him and reminded him that if he needed someone to talk to, he could always come to her.

Ren Anle, who had intended to return to Jingnan, was troubled. She ordered Yuan Shu to secretly investigate in the Left Minister's Mansion and unexpectedly discovered a forged plum blossom imperial guard token. When Luo Mingxi heard that Wen Shuo had been missing for a day and a night, he suddenly remembered that Han Ye had mentioned Wen Shuo possessing something of utmost importance. He speculated that Han Ye's killing of Jiang Yu and Wen Shuo's disappearance might be related, even possibly involving Ren Anle.

Yuan Qin, keeping it a secret from Ren Anle, met Luo Mingxi alone and revealed the truth about the events at Wuliu Street years ago. While the world believed that Wen Shuo saved the crown prince, it was actually Han Ye who sacrificed himself to save Wen Shuo and took a deadly blow for him. Yuan Qin sought Luo Mingxi's help to protect Ren Anle from the turmoil in the capital, and he understood her intentions and promised to take her back to Jingnan.

Meanwhile, Wen Shuo struggled to break free from his bindings in the woodshed, recalling the strategies Han Ye had taught him to survive dangerous situations. He vowed to see Han Ye as soon as he escaped. Soon, Lin Lang found out that the Wuliu Street incident was masterminded by Han Ye and not an accidental encounter as described by Yuan Qin. This meant that Wen Shuo held great significance to Han Ye.

An Ning entered the palace to plead on Han Ye's behalf. Emperor Jia Chang, of course, knew his son's character well. But if he didn't deal with the matter strictly, it would only fuel the anger of the civil and military officials. Wen Shuo managed to escape from his captors and rushed to the Ren Mansion, finally meeting Ren Anle and Luo Mingxi. Although he couldn't identify who had bound him, he remembered the attire of the black-clad people, identical to that of the plum blossom imperial guards, clearly pointing to the Left Minister's involvement.

That night, Luo Mingxi led his men to search the Left Minister's Mansion and found the intelligence they obtained from the northwest. Surprisingly, it was revealed that Jiang Yu's birth mother was from Northern Qin. Luo Mingxi submitted the relevant evidence to Emperor Jia Chang. With this matter resolved, Ren Anle finally saw that Han Ye was safe and sound, and her heart was relieved. Luo Mingxi deeply admired Han Ye. Upon hearing about the Left Minister's death, Mo Shuang hurriedly sought out Leng Bei to inquire about the situation, worried that she might be expelled from the capital too. Leng Bei reassured Mo Shuang that he would protect her safety.
