When Luo Lingyu woke up, she immediately began searching for Lu Yun. King Hengyang’s face was grim as he informed her that the area where Lu Yun had been during the avalanche still had no news of him. Luo Lingyu’s heart broke, and she immediately stood up to search for him. King Hengyang, along with many soldiers, rushed up the mountain to continue the search. In the vast snowfields, Luo Lingyu began digging through the snow with her bare hands.
She finally found the pouch that Lu Yun had carried with him. Knowing he must be nearby, she continued to dig, her fingers numbing from the cold. Eventually, she managed to find Lu Yun just in time—had she not found him, he would have frozen to death there. After several days of careful nursing, Lu Yun finally regained his strength. King Hengyang tied a red silk ribbon on their tent to celebrate Lu Yun’s miraculous survival.
Now that Beichu’s power was in decline and no longer as arrogant as before, King Hengyang reminded Lu Yun that it was time to return. He had also prepared generous wedding gifts for Lu Yun and Luo Lingyu. Witnessing their deep affection for one another, King Hengyang, who was fond of both, wished them an early wedding.
When the news reached the Lu household that Lu Yun had returned victorious and that Luo Lingyu had made significant contributions on the front lines, they began preparing for the wedding. Lady Lu called the family together to discuss the arrangements. However, several days passed without hearing from the couple. Unable to wait any longer, Lady Lu called them in front of everyone.
Lu Yun and Luo Lingyu merely said they weren’t in a rush, and neither was clear about the other's feelings. Lady Lu urged them to marry soon, but Lu Yun only said he needed to make proper preparations. In the end, Lady Lu decided to follow their wishes. After leaving his grandmother’s room, Lu Yun couldn’t help but stop Luo Lingyu. He, too, wanted to marry, but he wasn’t sure of Luo Lingyu’s feelings.
At this point, Lu Yun struggled to find the right words. He asked Luo Lingyu if she had seen any wedding dresses lately and if there was one she liked. Luo Lingyu, realizing that Lingxi had been the one to reveal this, felt irritated and purposely asked Lu Yun what he had been busy with. She heard from Yinchuan that Lu Yun had calculated all the auspicious days for this year.
Neither of them was willing to take the first step, so the matter was postponed. Lu Yun sought advice from a few close friends, who suggested he pick an appropriate time and create a romantic atmosphere, perhaps a gentle walk and some flowers. Meanwhile, Luo Lingyu and her girlfriends were also brainstorming ways to make the men take the initiative. Zhou Yangling was also troubled.
Although the emperor had arranged her marriage with King Yi, King Yi had never personally proposed. The group drank and got a bit tipsy, with Chen Xiu still able to walk, so she decided to head home early. Lu Yun and King Yi both went to find their respective women. Zhou Yangling, who rarely drank, was also quite drunk. Lu Yun took Luo Lingyu away, leaving King Yi to escort Zhou Yangling home.
Zhou Yangling asked King Yi if he was willing to marry her. King Yi was confused, thinking their marriage had already been settled, but Zhou Yangling was concerned whether King Yi had agreed out of obligation or genuine affection. When King Yi understood her feelings, he couldn’t help but laugh. He had fallen for her the first time they met, feeling like his heart had been struck by a deer’s antlers.
Later, he witnessed her talent and intelligence, so of course, he was more than willing. Under the blooming flowers and the moonlight, King Yi kissed Zhou Yangling. Meanwhile, Luo Lingyu and her girlfriends were planning to create an opportunity for Lu Yun. Originally, they had planned for artificial rain and fireworks, but Lu Yun’s team had also prepared Kongming lanterns and flower petals.
Both sides had the same idea, and with Chen Xiu and Lingxi’s help, Luo Lingyu set up the artificial rain, just as Lu Yun’s team extinguished the lanterns. Seeing each other’s preparations, Luo Lingyu and Lu Yun finally understood each other’s feelings. With the blessings of their many friends, Luo Lingyu brought forward the carefully crafted wedding crown to ask Lu Yun for marriage. Lu Yun pretended to hesitate for two seconds before eagerly agreeing. Lu Yun’s proposal was successful.
He immediately suggested that they return to Jingyang in a few days. All these years, Lu Yun had remembered Luo Lingyu’s wish to marry into the Luo family, and now he was determined to help her fulfill that dream.
