Liu Miantang began to pay close attention when she met Cui Xingzhou again. She pretended to casually ask Cui Xingzhou what they were doing around this time last year. Cui Xingzhou casually replied that they were in Qingzhou doing porcelain business. However, Liu Miantang clearly remembered that she had been here at the market just during the day, and it had only been a year since then. Now, Cui Xingzhou was saying that she had been living in Qingzhou.

Liu Miantang laced the wine with a sedative, first putting the nanny to sleep. Then, while everyone else was unprepared, she sneaked out alone and went to the location of the escort agency she remembered from the day. Sure enough, she recognized the people and things there. Even Granny Zhao, who had just given her the fruit, was stabbed in the abdomen and died before her eyes. Fortunately, one familiar brother insisted on helping Liu Miantang escape. Though she was unwilling to flee, he knocked her unconscious and hid her in a large cargo box, thus allowing her to escape the massacre. Liu Miantang didn't know how much time had passed when she slowly regained consciousness.

She had just witnessed a bloody battle and remembered many things, including how three years ago, on her way to marry Cui Jiu, they were attacked by bandits.
