After the press conference, Fang Li was confused and asked An Yushen what had happened. Although An Yushen didn’t like Fang Li, he still pretended to care deeply, saying that seeing his grandmother proud of him had reignited his fighting spirit. He wanted to fight for the person he liked, using this as an excuse to go back on his words. However, Fang Li was left speechless by his explanation.
After turning the situation around for Fang Li, An Yushen no longer wanted to be the "puppy dog" and started to face things head-on. After breakfast, he quietly began preparing to go to the company. Fang Li was puzzled. She had always heard that An Yushen was an unambitious guy, but now he was eager to go to work and appeared to be quite motivated. This clearly didn’t align with the script’s character description.
Fang Li claimed that she was An Yushen’s investor and partner, so it was necessary for her to accompany him to the company to supervise the operation of their assets. This was a valid reason, so Fang Li confidently went to the company with him. In the morning, Lin Lu overheard a recently fired employee claiming to have blackmail material on Luo Yan.
The employee said that if Lin Lu delivered this evidence to An Yushen’s grandmother, it would ruin Luo Yan’s reputation. Lin Lu, being Luo Yan’s secret lover, couldn’t let someone have leverage over him. Seizing the opportunity when no one was around, she quietly took the evidence from the safe.
She initially wanted to deliver it to Luo Yan, but when she saw him on a call with his father, explaining that he had accidentally been late to the meeting, she hesitated. After the call ended, Luo Yan, in a fit of irritation, scolded Lin Lu for entering the office unannounced, as it made a bad impression on others. Without hesitation, he asked her to leave.
Lin Lu, who had intended to deliver something important to him, was hurt by Luo Yan’s coldness. Fang Li’s original target in the game was Luo Yan, but now An Yushen had interfered, which irritated her. She asked Aotian if there was a way to erase an irrelevant person from the game. Aotian replied that physical elimination was possible. Fang Li then called An Yushen and asked him to meet her by the river. Fang Li had prepared an electric baton.
When An Yushen wasn’t paying attention, she knocked him unconscious and pushed him into the river. This was her first time doing something like this, and she felt a little scared afterward. A few minutes later, her phone rang. It was An Yushen calling to ask her to have dinner with him. Since it had been Fang Li who invited him, it would be obvious if she didn’t show up. Reluctantly, Fang Li went to meet him.
An Yushen made veiled remarks and dipped his bread into the soup. Clearly, he had figured out who had pushed him into the water. An Yushen asked Fang Li to help him apply a band-aid to the injury on his neck and warned her that this game wasn’t as fun as it seemed. As they were talking, a waiter entered with a trolley.
Lin Lu, seeing how Luo Yan was tirelessly trying to gain the An family’s favor, had bribed the waiter to kidnap Fang Li and An Yushen, locking them in a small dark room. The room was only big enough for Fang Li and An Yushen. To escape, they had no choice but to team up again. Fang Li found a lighter in An Yushen’s pocket and used it to untie the ropes binding them. The two managed to escape.
When Luo Yan found out about Lin Lu’s actions, he warned her not to interfere. He feared that it could lead to a bigger disaster if they weren’t careful. Now, both Fang Li and An Yushen realized they were both experiencing the game. An Yushen was the first to admit that his character's goal was to defeat Luo Yan and become the rightful heir of the An family. Fang Li remained cautious.
Originally, her mission had been to sabotage An Yushen’s plans, but she lied and told him that their missions were the same. It seemed that the two of them would team up after all. An Yushen decided to hold a wedding.
