Wen Xiaoliu assertively defended Cang Xuan in public, even resorting to aggressive behavior, which forced Xiyan De Yan to agree to let them go. The two of them went to meet the King of Xiyan. Wen Xiaoliu still held resentment towards him, and being used to being casual, she sat down on a couch, while Cang Xuan stood respectfully in front of the King.

The King of Xiyan treated Wen Xiaoliu and Cang Xuan differently. He praised Wen Xiaoliu's face and mouth, saying they resembled his grandmother. However, Wen Xiaoliu remembered her grandmother as having a withered appearance and wrinkles all over her face. Despite being renowned for her beauty in her youth, she had married the King of Xiyan.

Thinking of this, Wen Xiaoliu felt even more frustrated and didn't hesitate to retort to the King of Xiyan. But the King didn't mind and only turned his gaze towards Cang Xuan, his smile fading, as he sternly questioned him about his plans for the future. Cang Xuan openly stated that he wanted to claim the Xiyan Mountain and wasn't afraid of opposition from the King's relatives. The King of Xiyan would not support Cang Xuan, knowing that even if he handed the throne to him, it would be hard to secure his position without his own efforts.

Later, the two of them left the main hall and arrived at the side hall where they used to reside. The phoenix tree canopy was grand, and the phoenix flowers bloomed brightly, reminding them of the past. However, the swing under the phoenix tree was long gone. Cang Xuan noticed Wen Xiaoliu's disappointment and handed her a phoenix flower, comforting her that as long as the places they cherished in their memories remained, everything could be restored to how it used to be.

Meanwhile, Tu Shanjing went to see his grandmother and encountered Tu Shanhou along the way. Remembering what he had done to him, Tu Shanjing felt some fear. Tu Shanhou revealed his true intentions, warning Tu Shanjing that if he wanted to make amends, he should disappear forever.

Tu Shanjing decided to cancel his engagement with Fengfeng Yinying, even if it meant giving up his position as the clan leader and enduring all the criticism. He hoped his grandmother would grant his request. However, his grandmother was so angry that she fainted on the spot. Tu Shanjing had to call for medical assistance and even asked not to continue sending plum wine to Wen Xiaoliu, as things had changed, and he couldn't fulfill his promise ahead of time. Fengfeng Yinying felt sweet as she received the fish dan given by Tu Shanhou, but when she heard about Tu Shanjing's decision to break off the engagement, she became furious.

The next day, Wen Xiaoliu came to the phoenix tree again and found that Cang Xuan had prepared a swing. Although familiar things had returned, the person who used to push her on the swing was no longer there. Cang Xuan was chatting with the King of Xiyan, and when asked if he had any grievances about the King's actions over the years, Cang Xuan replied that all the hardships would only strengthen his determination to pursue his chosen path.

In the Chao Yun Hall, Wen Xiaoliu looked at her grandmother's jewelry and was surprised that the King of Xiyan had kept them so well. Just then, the King of Xiyan and Cang Xuan entered the hall. The King said that Wen Xiaoliu could take the jewelry if she liked, but she firmly refused. She resented her grandfather's coldness towards everyone, whether it was her grandmother or her mother. Cang Xuan might not fully understand her feelings yet, as he hadn't taken up that position. Wen Xiaoliu knew that Cang Xuan was using her to get close to Tu Shanjing and the Fengfeng family, but she still enjoyed it. Whatever Cang Xuan wanted, she would do her best to help him achieve it.

Afterward, Cang Xuan took Wen Xiaoliu to the Song and Dance Pavilion in Xiyan City. On the other hand, Wen Xiaoliu saw a man embracing a dancing girl and going upstairs. She carefully looked at the man, dressed in elegant attire with black hair and a smile on his face, resembling Xiang Liu but with some differences. When Wen Xiaoliu finally realized it, the man had already disappeared from the surroundings.
