However, the person revealed a smile similar to Fengfeng Bei, which inevitably disappointed her. Since Fengfeng Bei was weak from his injuries, Wen Xiaoliu kindly offered him medicine and asked about the cause of his injuries. Fengfeng Bei avoided answering, so Wen Xiaoliu had to let him hide in her own bed.

Xiyan Yipeng led a search of Qiang Xuan's sleeping chamber and found him in disarray, leaning on the bed, with scattered elixirs of ecstasy nearby. Fengfeng Bei helped her lie down and purposely kept a distance from her.

The next morning, A Nian came to Qiang Xuan to complain, but unexpectedly, Xiyan Yue Liang sent two beautiful women as an apology, which Qiang Xuan readily accepted. This made A Nian disappointed in Qiang Xuan, unable to understand his inner struggles, so she packed her things sadly and returned to Haoling Kingdom with Haitang.

Wen Xiaoliu stood by the bed, watching Fengfeng Bei sleep. She recalled the moments she spent with Xiang Liu in Qingshui Town and compared the two in her mind, smiling involuntarily. However, she found the chamber empty, which left her heartbroken and sitting alone in the corridor lost in thought.

Seeing this, Qiang Xuan came over and sat beside Wen Xiaoliu. Wen Xiaoliu asked him for help in investigating Fengfeng Bei's identity, and Qiang Xuan agreed readily. Lately, Qiang Xuan had been playing a part for important matters, and sometimes he couldn't distinguish between truth and pretense. Wen Xiaoliu offered to share his burdens and difficulties, but Qiang Xuan refused, not wanting her to get hurt, and returned to the sleeping chamber to deal with the intelligence sent by King Shu.

Shennong Xinyue successfully convinced her grandfather to report the restoration of Chenrong Mountain, giving Qiang Xuan a reason to leave Xiyan City and develop power in the Central Plains. The old temple on Chenrong Mountain was in ruins, and the King of Xiyan appointed Qiang Xuan as the inspector to oversee its repair. Qiang Xuan used this opportunity to take Wen Xiaoliu along, despite objections from the Fifth and Seventh Princes. It was only when the King of Xiyan brought up the illustrious achievements of General Wang Ji that everyone ceased their objections.

After arriving in the Central Plains, Qiang Xuan was deeply affected by the erosion of the "Soul-Enchanting Elixir," experiencing daily torment. Even when taking the elixir, the effects were minimal. Wen Xiaoliu searched through medical books to find a solution for treating elixir poisoning, helping him endure the difficult treatment process.
