However, before Wen Xiaoliu could catch her breath, Mu Fei appeared from the front. It turned out that due to his family being killed by Chi Chen, he was determined to use Wen Xiaoliu's life as a sacrifice to the deceased. Wen Xiaoliu insisted that her father was only King Haoling, but Mu Fei refused to listen to any explanations. He threw several sharp blades into Wen Xiaoliu's hands, feet, and body. Despite the excruciating pain, she didn't scream or beg for mercy.

In the end, a barrage of plum blossom darts rained down on Wen Xiaoliu, piercing her body with blood pouring out like rain, splattering the plum forest. Xiang Liu sensed that something had happened to Wen Xiaoliu and immediately took the Maoqiu to Chenrong Mountain. Qiang Xuan and Tu Shanjing also noticed something was amiss and rushed over.

Tu Shanjing was the first to find Wen Xiaoliu, but unfortunately, she had already passed away. Despite his desperate efforts to channel spiritual power for healing, it had no effect. In despair, Tu Shanjing activated a suicidal formation, flames engulfed him, and he was determined to die with her. When Qiang Xuan arrived at the valley, the entire plum forest was ablaze. Xiang Liu's intention was clear: to save Wen Xiaoliu's life. Qiang Xuan mistakenly thought that Xiang Liu was the mastermind behind the plot, but he still cared about Wen Xiaoliu's safety. To reassure Qiang Xuan, Xiang Liu falsely claimed there were gains to be had from his actions and assured him he wouldn't be lumped together with a secretive villain like Princess, as it would tarnish her reputation. Qiang Xuan watched as Xiang Liu took Wen Xiaoliu away, feeling a complex mix of emotions.

After the two had completely disappeared, Qiang Xuan used a puppet transformed to look like Xiang Liu, had someone send him away to divert suspicion, and another puppet was made to look like Wen Xiaoliu, left in the palace. He claimed that he would wait for her to return. Afterwards, Qiang Xuan secretly investigated the incident in the plum forest, learning that at least three powerful spiritual experts were present, leading him to believe this was a premeditated act of brutality.

Although Tu Shanjing was not severely harmed, he remained unconscious, choosing to close his heart once more because there was no one in the world he cared about. Xiang Liu, in order to save Wen Xiaoliu, took her to a dwelling under the sea, using his own blood to feed her, urging her not to give up her life easily.
