Wen Xiaoliu declined and had A Nian go back with Ruzhou, stating that she would stay to support Cang Xuan. For several days, the Xiyan King feasted guests in Zhezhou. Meanwhile, Cang Xuan supervised craftsmen repairing the palace, unaware of the impending danger. Xiyan Deyan falsely implicated Cang Xuan and brought water tribe members to pose as assassins targeting the King. This caused the King to grow more suspicious of Cang Xuan. He ordered Cang Xuan's presence.

As the initial plan progressed, Xiyan Deyan met with Xiang Liu alone and instructed him to ambush Wen Xiaoliu, ensuring that she wouldn't return. Despite the dangers of meeting Xiyan King, Cang Xuan didn't want to bear false accusations or risk his loyal followers' lives. He decided to go alone to Zhezhou.

Wen Xiaoliu insisted on accompanying Cang Xuan, unswayed even by his harsh words. Tu Shanjing and Chishui Fenglong worried about Cang Xuan and tried to find ways to help him. When they heard that Wen Xiaoliu would accompany him, Tu Shanjing rushed to meet Xiyan King. However, Chenrong Xinyue was hesitant and couldn't persuade her brother. She prioritized her safety over rescuing Cang Xuan.

Before Cang Xuan reached Zhezhou City, Tu Shanjing and Chishui Fenglong had already met Xiyan King and were kept in a side hall. Soon, they heard the voices of Wen Xiaoliu and Cang Xuan. Xiyan Deyan and the old clans accused Cang Xuan of hiring assassins, but Wen Xiaoliu argued on his behalf. She left Xiyan Deyan speechless, and eventually, Xiyan King concluded that the matter was unrelated to Cang Xuan.

Xiyan King raised a question before everyone: How would they treat the Central Plains clans if they became rulers of Xiyan? Xiyan Deyan flattered and echoed the King's sentiments, while Cang Xuan held a different view. He said he would treat the Central Plains clans as subjects, even if Nuwa and Fuxi were alive, they would make the same choice. Contrary to expectations, Xiyan King was not angered by Cang Xuan's words. Chishui Fenglong even admired and respected Cang Xuan more. Tu Shanjing realized something was wrong and quickly left with Chishui Fenglong. Upon hearing that Wen Xiaoliu and Cang Xuan were safe, their anxiety was eased.

After leaving Xiyan King's palace, they rested by the roadside. Wen Xiaoliu thanked Tu Shanjing and Chishui Fenglong for their assistance and noticed an unusual atmosphere between Wen Xiaoliu and Tu Shanjing. She decided to take Wen Xiaoliu back to the Central Plains. Chishui Fenglong straightforwardly expressed his intention to marry Wen Xiaoliu. Tu Shanjing, aware of his failure towards Wen Xiaoliu, hoped Chishui Fenglong would take care of her.
